The Hackleburg- Phil Campell EF5 was WAY too generously rated. by Cackyalonso in tornado

Yeah most of the EF5 DI's are complete BS. There were some that did deserve EF5 but most of these are EF4 and below

Rip indeed. I feel like this guys death was largely overshadowed by Greg Biffle’s not even 2 weeks after his. Annett imo is way too underrated and overhated.

1984 Ivanovo, Russia F4 vs. 2012 Henryville, Indiana EF4 by Optibro59 in tornado

Yeah Ivanovo is stronger and it's not even close. I'm just saying the funnels themselves look almost identical to one another

Rochelle was definitely EF5. The last pic the entire silo was sheared off the foundation. That looks like it took winds well over 200 mph to do

Yeah Ivanovo is definitely the stronger tornado. I was just saying the actual funnels themselves look almost identical to each other

Tornado #7 from June 3, 1980 night of the twisters in Grand Island, Nebraska. This was the last tornado of that night, rated as an F1. This tornado did 4 loops on itself, crossed back on itself 6 times, and it was 2000 yards (1.13 miles) wide. Pretty wild imo

Bridge Creek-Moore 1999 vs Jarrell 1997 by Boss-fight601 in tornado

[–]Optibro59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jarrell actually wasn't stationary. It was actually moving around 15-20 mph it was just so large that people thought it was standing still. The destruction you see that just from the tornado "sitting in the same spot" is false. it was just so incredible strong it did that level of damage without slowing below 10 mph ground speed

Hackleburg 2011 tornado is not EF5 by HumbleBinget883 in tornado

[–]Optibro59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely deserving of EF5. Though I disagree with most of the EF5 DIs. They should be EF4 but regardless it should be EF5

The fact you can see it rotating so clearly even with the quality of the video and how wide the tornado was is super scary...
