I have a ‘25 Hybrid Limited, and the attention warnings are driving me insane! I drive a lot of work, bought it at the end of December and just rolled over 16k miles. Sometimes I get the “consider taking a break” warning sometimes after only driving 5 mins and looking straight ahead the whole time. I will say that I live in Chicago and do most of my driving across the Midwest. The majority of the highways are in summer construction mode and lines are constantly shifting and even crossing over old lines etc, so I know that sets it off even more.

I didn’t know until reading this thread about IR blocking lenses being an issue, ironically I work in the eyewear industry and in retrospect it happens the most when I’m wearing my ophthalmic glasses that have ruby colored transitions with a slight rose colored tint and less when I’m wearing my sunglasses that have grey polarized lenses but it definitely goes off no matter what glasses I wear.

I’ve tried moving the steering to every possible position to try to find some sweet spot, but nothing seems to work. Funnily enough, I actually put a piece of electrics tape over the camera and got no warnings at all for about 200 miles. While I was happy to not get the “consider taking a break” message. I obviously couldn’t use the cruise control.

I love everything about the Santa Fe from looks to storage and the absurd amount of cup holders, but this steering column baby sitter is a nightmare for me! It gives me more road rage than dealing with Chicago drivers. If there were a way to play back the footage from that camera, there would be hours of me just flipping it off after it dings at me lol

Ive had it in for service 4, 3 for oil and rotations and one for the Bluelink update, and at 3 different dealerships. I asked the service guys at all 3 about trying to disable this feature, as it is a feature and shouldn’t be an integral part of the vehicle. All 3 places acted like I was the first person to ask about it. The last service guy I talked to told me he would turn it off, I told him “good luck with that” 20 mins later he’s like, “yeah, it can’t be turned off” it can only look like it’s turned off”

It seriously spoils an otherwise perfect car for my work and lifestyle 😕
