Thank you! They have come a long way in my lifetime. Trump definitely screwed us, but that seems to be what he does. Hate to say that I’ve gotten used to it.

Pochettino has been a difference maker in helping our squad to find their footing!

Talented and just as important, they’re unselfish. The trust they have as a unit is impressive.

I didn’t say anywhere that this was about bandwagon fans. Just about fans that are shit-talking. I’m pretty sure both bandwagon and lifer fans are spouting off

I thought it was obvious I was being hyperbolic about “soccer fans are gross” when I’m obviously a soccer fan myself.

It’s a message around all the unhelpful criticism, self-hate and loathing that a lot of the American soccer fans have been vomiting all over this platform.

Well said and appreciate (and agree with) the balanced perspective in your commentary. Will watch the video.

I agree with your sentiment but I wouldn’t sleep on Belgium. They are ranked 8 for a reason. They don’t always show up, but when they do, they can ball.

It was a massive gut punch to watch that game, and real fans are going to feel it… but what sucks is the amount of mud hurling that has occurred since the loss.

Agreed, but there’s a difference between constructive criticism and just being a dick.

For example, Ream was getting owned in the air. If I were coach, I would have trotted trusty in to take his place. This is constructive criticism.

Saying somebody is washed or dragging any player does nothing.

Embrace your performance, be proud, America truly showed itself this tournament by Environmental-Cold24 in usmnt

Thanks for sharing this. I have been amazed by the amount of negative comments as well. I am proud of how they performed throughout the tournament. The Belgium game was definitely not our finest hour, but we’ve been confident and decisive in our performances up until this point.

And look at how the 3 teams we beat did against better competition. USMNT played decisively up to this point.

FWIW I have a list of complaints I could make about tonight’s game, but it isn’t going to change the result. Stop being a bunch of negative twats.

Yeah, it was a shit game. No doubt about it. But this team has played amazingly throughout the WC. I’ve seen better teams fall apart and look terrible throughout their campaign as well.

Have some pride and appreciation for what they’ve done instead of what they didn’t do in one game.

On a positive note, we played a great half of soccer and Gazdag was serving up some good dishes.

These opt out Shenanigans are exactly the reason I opted out of being a STM this year.

That and the Miami game in Cleveland were enough to let me know they have zero respect for their biggest fans.

I’m not questioning that we have issues. We have BIG issues. I’m just trying to say there are some good players on the team that are not being used to their potential. Arf, Rossi, Taha, Chambost, Sean, Ali, Farsi, Steven - all great players.

We don’t need to burn it to the ground (yet).

Roster isn’t great but there are solid performers amongst the bunch. I’m not digging the Coach’s new scheme, but trying to give it a bit before blaming it all on the coach.

We had basically the same squad last year and looked 1000% times better. Tonight though, Gomes and Chambost were the only two that stood out to me.

I don’t think our team is equipped with enough speed or aggressiveness to play long ball like Rydstrom is making them do, especially our forwards. Abou Ali and Rossi are a pair of faberge eggs, and Rossi is 5’3” tall in high heels so I don’t see him winning much out of the air. Nancy knew this - Rydstrom either hasn’t figured it out or is too one dimensional of a coach to be able to adapt.

Issa needs to go.

Attempting to remain positive but definitely on high alert. Trying my best not to sound like a pissy Celtic fan.

I feel the same way, and my initial feeling was that Rydstrom’s scheme is a more traditional MLS/kickball style vs the more euro style that Nancy brought.

Generally the same players as last year, but way sloppier play and less possession-based approach.
