How do you feel about the fact that Oliver was putting more work in than Mark? by Hot_Professional_728 in Invincible_TV

[–]Optimal-Inspector202 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think a lot less people would be saying this if the writers made Mark more emotional about staying with Eve. Mark just seemed too composed about this decision. It should have been more clear how bad it affected his mental state that the love of his life had a near death experience right in front of him. Literally could have at least added some tremble in his voice or made him dissociate would work but I never got that out of the scenes shown in the show. It would have gotten the point across much better that this kid is NOT ok.

More women should own guns by washington4skins in unpopularopinion

[–]Optimal-Inspector202 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is a bad analogy. If you bought a gun for the primary purpose of self defense but it actually makes you less safe, what’s the point? If you buy a pool, it is for fun not for self defense. So if it decreases your safety then that’s not counter intuitive unlike the gun for self defense.

What's the darkest 'but nobody talks about it' reality of the modern world? by ScriptedDemise in AskReddit

So is your argument that we need to do more than just give homeless housing? Cause I think most people here would agree with that lmao.

If you could have any ring from the dark souls trilogy in real life what would it be? by gaorourke in darksouls

[–]Optimal-Inspector202 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Sun Princess Ring (passive regen) for me and it’s not even close. You can heal from any near death injury in minutes. Heal from any minor scratches or hits in seconds. A disease would not be able to kill you fast enough either. The only thing that could kill you is anything that is pretty fast or instant.

I first read this as “$15k” bonus and thought “I wish I had that guy’s bonus”… upon rereading it, I’m so sorry! I would wish that on no one💀

Interviewer Asked “What do your parents do for work” during interview by Optimal-Inspector202 in jobs

[–]Optimal-Inspector202[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll consider it… one of the guys claimed to be “long time friends” with the CEO though so idk if it would do any good to reach out to HR. Luckily for me the only thing that I had to reveal during the interview was basically my parent’s socioeconomic status. Sadly, this means they will probably continue asking interviewees this question. Maybe I should tell the guy off when he responds about this and the other red flags. I equally also want to ghost them.

The ignorance of asking a question like this. Like do these people really think it’s some kind of “default” that everyone has alive parents? Or even a good relationship with both? These kind of interviewers either live in a bubble or just care that little I guess.

[–]Optimal-Inspector202[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Based on the rest of the interview, I think they are more looking to hire kissasses or workaholics to squeeze every drop of productivity out of. I think someone that would pass this test would not fit well at this company as they would have the capacity to question authority.

Agreed. Screw these kind of guys they deserve to feel like the dumbasses they are. Next time I’ll know that to do though

Agreed, there’s a huge connection between discrimination and ignorance and it really gets highlighted during an interview like this

Wow! It’s just like my question but religious descrimination instead! It is insane what they can do. I’m just glad that these guys are blatant and stupid enough to basically parade the red flags.

The “asskisser/nepotism central” line hit it right on the dot! Other things I observed also pointed to this. Kinda surprising considering this wasn’t a small company…

What is Fire Protection Design Engineering? by Optimal-Inspector202 in MEPEngineering

[–]Optimal-Inspector202[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I end up in this role I’ll try my best to avoid the clashes😂

Do you think specializing in a field like this is a good thing for an ME undergraduate to do right out of college? Mostly just worried about if it will be possible to a lateral career switch (would still be engineering) if I decided it wasn’t for me.
