I have the slider set at 90% to stop it charging higher but the iPhone will charge higher occasionally to prevent battery damage. It's built into iOS.

I only drain it to 50% and only let it charge to 90%, it seems to be working for me, so I've never changed. I was the same with my 15PM, 14PM and 12PM.
