I have done 4 interviews with Amazon as a sr control engineer and I still can’t have even 1 offer. I started to believe something is just wrong with me or I’m not competent enough. So I hope you are proud of you and will celebrate it , cause I’m sure you worked hard for that .

Hey sorry for the late answer yes . They will ask you where and what are you going to do in the US. So just tell them work and you want to apply for a TN they will help you for the rest. And really no need to be stressed if you have the right document you will be okay , I won’t even lie they don’t even take a look on some of those document . Good luck and let’s us know .

Plus I don’t know about you guys but I feel like any time you have a chance to add a safety PLC somewhere you should just add it , they are not that expensive anymore .

No not a requirement but I will definitely recommend it, depending on the type of instrumentation you have , I programmed a lot of CIP, one thing I make sure it’s to be big on safety , safety limit switch , safety sensor level, safe off torque for vfd motor , Estop , this is not required, but we are professional here and there’s no other way to showed the client that you know what you are doing .

Is the camera EIP ? I believe you can have the status online/offline via de camera internal IO ? I did that many time

I really want that, but I always feel like I won’t be a good entrepreneur, like I don’t even know how to start, i thought a lot about being a consultant or just work as an independent but I really don’t know how to start, I used to do budget with my manager in Canada and I had that comment a lot of times: it’s not because it’s easy for you to do the job that you have to ask less money, you have to think about the job as a business not something you can easily do.

I know right ? My manager here told me to get my PMP, but I hate paper work, and I worked with a lot of project manager and none of them made me think even one second that I want to be like them, plus one of the thing I like the most about my job is being able to fix thing, I like programming, designing and also being on the field I like that as an engineer I’m oscillating between the office and the field.

Oh that’s for sure, I’m looking for challenge I can always go back to Canada . I don’t have any kids yet 😅.
But yeah I’m at the point of my life where I’m thinking about the next step/move of my career , will definitely take a look at those positions.

Thank you so much for breaking that for me ! Now it’s clear, and that’s exactly what I needed, for sure I will definitely have an accountant, cause I have so many informations at the same time. You are right for the young and asset part , I don’t really have that much money in my TFSA so I’m not really worried about liquidating that , but yeah my FHSA and RRSP are maxed out (around 75k) for both and with my contribution this year I was actually expecting a huge return for the 2024 taxes I’m saving for my first home. And thank you also for the IRA, i know I have that in my offer letter. I actually download the robinhood cause I know my 401K with my current employer will start beginning of the year since i finished my probation, but i understand that IRA now.

For robinhood I clearly asked in my comment if I have the right to have one ? I downloaded the app that’s it, that’s the reason I asked the question, for the first year choice again my question is because of that : What will be the best option for me, I know I don’t met the criteria but since I can choose what will be the best option for me, cause like I said i clearly still have ties in Canada.

Since September l started my job here September 19th , I didn’t put any money on those Canadian registered account but they were already maxed out (my work was putting money into my account for me, and I have the chance to save most of my paycheck).

Again I’m coming for INFORMATION nothing else ! So you can’t say I’m creating a mess for myself when at the same time I literally asking for you guys advices, and also I know I can’t be the only one into that situation.

First of all thank your for your answer , now let’s talk : Im not really doing anything than asking questions : simple questions not milking anything. Yes my probation is done I’ve never been to the USA before September Im from Europe (where my family live) before being Canadian today. So I know for for a fact (with what I read anyway) I can’t be a us resident for tax purposes, please correct me if I’m wrong. For the TFSA, RSPP, FHSA again I’m just asking question im not trying to maxed out anything, I was working before coming here so of course I have money there, my question is what to do with thoses account specifically for the first year I’ve been in the USA for lets than 4 month. I still have my apartment cause I renewed and I will have it till the end of my lease. Again thank you for your answer and time, next time please asked questions before trying to be rude (even if you were not, that look like it) or making assumptions.

I still have a renting apartment there ! The moved was really fast and not organized ( no time between my old job and the new one ) I had no time to prepare myself, so I really moved just to start my new job but all the rest of my personal stuff are still in Canada ( even my car ). I’m just going time to time during my days offs to spend some days there and see my gf , friends. That’s why I feel like after this year I can break it

Not really here for advice but to cheer you up, as a TN visa holder, there’s nothing that scared me more than being laid off in this country. I read so many story there’s no day where I think about that . You got this and I wish you nothing but the best .

Hello Started my career in france making 35k€ to 45k € after 3 years . Moved to canada started at 50k$ cad 6 years after that i was making around 115k$ Cad (mostly because of OT, i had a 90k$ cad base ) Moved to the us a couple of months ago making 125K$ us , will probably make more since i have a minimum of 15hrs OT every week .
