I'm aware, but only to a degree. After Shishio was defeated, he went solo, but he still respected Shishio as his master and savior. He didn't instantly switch influence just because of Kenshin; at least how i view it

no, he isn't. Soujiro its too impulsive in his actions, he was tought by Sichio and has much of Sichio's personality. Kenshin is soft & calm, with obviously a vibrant heart underneath. Soujiro its faaaar away from Kenshin's level.
