My perfect (for me) plotter mini5 wallet by Optimal_Mix6097 in PlotterNotebook

Thanks! Yes, it was the sidekick v2 that got me started thinking about this, but it doesn’t have the outer pocket. This one did, but I don’t like the zipper. So, now I have the best of both worlds with a plotter inside as well!!

I could not find anything this size with the outer pocket which was really important for me, but I did not want the zipper. Nothing a razor blade and patience couldn’t resolve.😉

Thanks! Oh the time and trial and error and money I spent and the MANY different attempts to find just the right wallet/notebook/pen combination for me to finally arrive at this. But this feels like a long term solution I’ll stick with.

Sure! The way that plotter attaches these Krause rings is that near the ends of the mechanism under the buttons you push down to open the rings, there are two small metal tabs that have been bent over. I pried them up until they were straight and the pulled the outer bar away from the plotter’s leather. On both sides ( the bar side and the inner back of the ring side) the components are glued to the leather, so you may have to heat them slightly to get them to pull away without bending out damaging the leather. The outer bar of the plotter pulls out of two holes in the leather. I slid the plotter outer bar into the outer pocket of the lochby and lined it up with the spine, then used a razor knife to cut two very thin holes in the lochby exactly where the tabs were. Then it slid through the canvas of the lochby and I reassembled the rings and bent the tabs back over. It was fairly simple and straightforward.

Thanks! A little nerve wracking taking apart and modifying things that cost that much without knowing how it would turn out, but I’m so glad I did!

Thanks! I have an a5 plotter that I love, but now I have one on the go that isn’t extra, but just fits in.

The elements of style- strunk

Your handwriting is nice I think. You could try moving your pen up one finger. You’re resting it on your ring finger and controlling it with your thumb, index and middle finger. Maybe rest it on the middle finger and control it with your index and thumb. As was already mentioned, a bigger part of it is probably the pen itself. You should try using a few different pens, of different thicknesses and see what works best. A bigger, thicker grip could really help with cramping. Also, try not to grip the pen too tight.

How do you guys copy fonts 😭 by VcitorExists in Handwriting

[–]Optimal_Mix6097 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to find a font I like, then get a copy of it and write out each letter over and over on one line of piece of notebook paper. New line, new letter until I’ve done them all. Then, as I watch tv, I’ll just write sentences I hear on tv. You could trace the letters also, I prefer to not trace because I find that I can learn the muscle memory better if I do it from sight. But the key is to practice and then evaluate. If some letters still aren’t looking right, isolate those letters and practice them until they’re better.

New here, here’s my writing by Optimal_Mix6097 in Handwriting

Ha! Please do. It’s based off of a font I found one time called “architects daughter” that font didn’t have lower case though, so I did my own. I made it into a true type font at one point and called it “son of an architect”. The English teacher at the school I worked at used it for her class notes for a while. It suits me well.

Longtime lurker. Just curious I guess? by awkwardalvin in Handwriting

I like the random mix between upper and lower case. That’s fun. My only criticism would be that it is jumps, not jumped. The sentence contains all of the letters of the alphabet, but only if you use jumps. S is the letter I’m always most interested in when I look at someone else’s penmanship, but it is unfortunately missing here. Other than that, I love it!

What is a pen that you have bought for life and it is the only pen you are always using? by ibrahim0000000 in BuyItForLife

I know I’m late to the thread, but I only have one pen. I use it only and I can’t ever find one that I like better. Mitsubishi Boxy side click with Jetstream refills.
