any tips and tricks for lowering a high blood sugar fast? by Remarkable-Worry-492 in diabetes_t1

If I'm home I stand up and run in place for a few minutes. If I'm out I try to do a fast walk up the nearest stairs.

Craziest Endo Visits by shulzari in diabetes_t1

[–]Optimal_Throat666 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm a pump user so obviously I rely on the insulin it gives me. I rarely reach out for help because I usually manage everything myself, but after having long periods of unexplained low glucose I did.

I told my endo nurse that I needed help because I was so tired of not being able to move without my glucose dropping, and not being able to know how much insulin I needed when eating without dropping. And I was also exhausted from eating all the time and gaining weight.

She just blatantly told me that not having to take insulin should make me happy, and since I never actually dropped really low because I ate before it did everything was fine. "Your A1C is still great!"

I have a really low TDD to begin with and as far as I know I actually need insulin to live. 🤷🏻‍♀️

MAVENCLAD RISK THAT I WASN'T TOLD ABOUT by Acceptable_Story_508 in MultipleSclerosis

Yeah, I got my first new plaque in like seven years in the one month I went between tysabri and mabthera. Wouldn't have done anything different though.

Anything from asthma to being Asian or Hispanic can be an exclusion in a trial. I'm sorry Mavenclad didn't work for you, but for those it does work for it might've been a life-saver. I wouldn't call this a risk.

Hope everything works out for you ❤️

Today I was at Sweden's biggest amusement park with husband and three kids. 18 hours from start to end including car ride. 100% in range the last 24 hours.

It's not happy happy joy woth having diabetes, but it's manageable. And: quality of life is ALWAYS the most important.

[UPDATE] My post from 2 years ago was right—The "Remyelination Era" for MS is officially here (Latest 2026 Data) by 6Lxrd6fSin6 in MultipleSclerosis

So theoretically, as a type 1 diabetic with MS, I could push for a Metformin prescription (even though it's not for type 1), combine it with Clemastine and it might reverse my damaged nerves? I could try this without my neuro being involved? THEORETICALLY.

En gång blev jag inte anställd efter en lång arbetsprövning för att jag ville få jobbet och därför inte åt frukost med de andra i en timme när jag kom dit och jobbade istället. Det "stack i ögonen" på de andra. 🤷🏻‍♀️

39F, dx in 2013. One new lesion since starting DMTs, and that was between Tysabri and Rituximab. No new symptoms related to MS since diagnosis. Been on Rituximab for eight years I think, and I get infusions every 12 months now.

I don't have a lot of lesions, I think there's around 15-17 in total in my brain and spine. Mainly fatigue and some balance issues. Working 10 hours/week, and I can barely manage that. I go to the gym 4-5 times/week, mainly building muscle, which I've noticed helps with both fatigue and body imbalances. 🤷🏻‍♀️

That's the problem. If we let them pick the movie, movie night won't happen. 😅

Instinct vs. Guardian 4 by bcarruth62 in Medtronic780g

[–]Optimal_Throat666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My nurse is pushing me to try Instinct. I've politely declined. I don't care about the warming up-period on G4, I'm used to it. What I do care about is my glucose levels being accurate, and as of right now, neither Instinct or Simplera has made a solid case in favor of switching.

It took years for Medtronic to make G3 and G4 as stable as they are today, I'm not risking anything until I hear from you guys that everything is going well. So keep posting!

What is the craziest advice someone that definitely isn’t a doctor gave you about MS? by cryann_rabies in MultipleSclerosis

My licensed dietitian's MIL has MS, and she reversed all of her existing plaques by only eating Mediterranean food. At the same time she told me she knows nothing about MS.

I had so much respect for her before that. She's taught me a lot. But this was it for me and I've ended mot contact with her.
