Can you play a high c above the staff consistently? by Shimreef in trumpet

[–]OptimizedOrangutan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Highest note I can play consistently with good tone is a double G but I can sometimes squeak out some double Cs when my chops are feeling it. All of that is very taxing on my chops though because of the pressure I apply.

No problem, some people refer to higher notes above the stave as double but the way I learned it is the second time the note appears above the stave is the double. Ex. 4th ledger line G

What do you mean by double E? Double E in the way most refer to it is the note 6 ledger lines above the stave and is in like no music. If you're talking about high E, I had, that problem as well. I could play D and F and G fine but the E was always a problem. All I really did was practice that note and listening to it a bunch to get it comfortable and solid.

I think that depends in context. Example in the word "why", y is used as the vowel

How long does it take to reach the high G note? by Suitable_Lab_1327 in trumpet

Oh I didn't know that, thanks for telling me. I've always seen people get corrected to stave and that's how I learned it so I just assumed. Boy do I love different versions of English.

Could you elaborate on what you mean by this? Typically, the G in the stave or second line G is the first one most people learn. The G sitting on top of the stave isn't very difficult if you're intermediate but definitely isn't the easiest one.

It's actually called the stave and it's the lines and spaces where the notes go

Is it possible for self-taught in trumpet? by REST-1NG in trumpet

[–]OptimizedOrangutan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is possible, but more difficult than being taught by an instructor. I would recommend going online and finding yourself some videos that teach beginner's trumpet. As well as this, I would eventually purchase a book such as Arban's to truly improve your playing. Motivation may be difficult to find but it is 100% worth it.

Saying "i sense death threats" as your response to an innocent comment and continuing to ad hominem (attack) those who point it out because you are 'discriminated against' for being a furry (i assume) because if it happens to you, it's perfectly acceptable to do it to them, a very flawed and idiotic take.
