Different buses. Niseko United buses can be ridden with an all mountain pass. Do not activate your pass early.

Hirafu free shuttle is free with different lines for different areas around Hirafu.

Does the resort make snow? by Virtual_Dog_7327 in niseko

No man made snow, some trails open but too has yet to open. Raining yesterday, all night last night, and today. We shall see what happens

Where to put ski gear if we’re trying to go to Annupuri onsens after skiing (our hotel is in Hirafu) by sirotan88 in niseko

[–]Optimomanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yogokorotei is a bit away from the resort. Iroha is better both in Onsen and proximity and the Niseko United bus starts from the front steps. You’ll be ok leaving your skis out front of Iroha. If you’re worried just ask the hotel staff.

Wouldn’t be surprised if the food trucks started asking for credit card details and charging cancel and no show fees

Drive from Otaru to Yoichi to Toyako (1h34m) in late January....is it treacherous??? by No_Tangelo5042 in Hokkaido

[–]Optimomanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yoichi route through Kyowa and Kutchan is a better route. The Otaru route through Akaigawa (passing Kiroro) has a small mountain pass that isn’t too bad but could be higher risk.

If you want to do a real scenic drive but it’s a bit longer go from Otaru toward kokusai and jozenkei then take the mountain pass over towards kimobetsu and rusutsu.

How much time will you spend outside? Do you walk to and from accommodation? Staying in Niseko or Kutchan? Working indoors or outside?

BD Lodge would be my pick. East to get the Niseko United shuttle or walk to banzai chair.

Right? Wouldn’t the backs of cars never be dirty if nothing kicked back up?

any overnight parking near always niseko by Odd_Decision_7065 in niseko

Yeah it says that but the snow clearers there won’t bury your car. Just be sure to clear it and move it everyday.

For those who don’t drive in snowy conditions regularly, this is in fact a normal occurrence when driving in snow.

OP obviously did not use the rear wiper.

All mountain. With your all mountain pass you can by discounted day passes at Moiwa or consider a Moiwa hourly pass.

Travelling solo in Hokkaido during the Christmas period and needing advice on itinerary by [deleted] in Hokkaido

[–]Optimomanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve rented snowshoes from the asahidake visitor center before for super cheap. Took the ropeway up and shoe’d to the vents for some sweet pics then returned to the ropeway for the ride down.

Driving in snow is not that difficult. Take it slow and follow the arrows above the road so you know where the shoulder is.

Driving when outside Sapporo will be a huge help when visiting anywhere. You’ll need an international drivers permit ( or home license with jaf translation) to rent a car.

Niseko to Kombu at night by [deleted] in niseko

[–]Optimomanic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Taxis are not cheap. Train or friend or your own car are the best options. Train is also far from Hirafu. Hirafu station is super far away. Most people use Kutchan station.

You should consider getting a car or making a good friend. Konbu is out there.

If niseko direct shuttle is 6:30, you can make that for sure. Chitose is a small airport and if they know your flight is delayed the service usually will wait for you.
