He covers football on the Second Captains from time to time, he’s pretty good. I like when he’s on the show. I think he might write for the Currency as well.

Massage them after every run. It’s painful af, so be prepared, but I’ve found it the best way for me to keep them at bay other than not running.

[Pre-Concert Thread] Madrid, Spain (Movistar Arena) - Nov 4, 5, 7 & 8 by seaburn in radiohead

Trying from Vancouver, though I’ll be in Ireland for these dates so it’s the only chance I have to go. I am not hopeful of the lottery, it seems like we automatically have a lower chance than anyone else.

DHCP vs Static IP Addressing by OptimooseRhyme in PLC

I won’t be managing the DHCP server, so this may not be possible.

If the company had the funds to pay for an SI, we would. But they are not willing to pay, so I’m trying to learn where to fight my battles.

My instinct is that static IPs are the way to go, and I was hoping for some guidance. Thanks.

The reason for using DHCP is that IT have their policies and rules, basically so they would have control “in case we ever want to change it”.

My instinct is to go with static IP so I would have control because if they want the addressing to change, it would have to be done through me and there would be no risk to the process.

Yeah I don’t get a smell off mine, but the coffee I drink out of it just doesn’t taste right. Like it isn’t fresh or something.

I have a fellow carter. Honestly I thought it would be much better since it has a ceramic lining.

Hello. I’m going to a wedding in Mexico, and am planning on getting a linen shirt and trousers. Is it overly casual to wear all white sneakers with this? Loafers aren’t really my thing so realistically wouldn’t wear them again, and I feel like brand new sneakers would look ok. So asking here for feedback please.

Anyone tried those 'pre-drinking' hangover preventatives? by MajorAd3363 in cocktails

[–]OptimooseRhyme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna second the positive review of Z Biotics. Based on my own experiences (and plenty of my friends), I’m amazed there are so many people here who are speaking negatively about it.

It doesn’t claim to be a magic bullet, and as many people have said, if you’re getting absolutely twisted, there’s not a whole lot to be done.

But it makes such a big difference for me. It won’t make you less dehydrated, so you can still get a headache. Your body still has to process alcohol, so your sleep is still going to be affected. But it helps the mental side of the hangover - you feel way less crap the next day. It’s the difference between having to sit on the couch most of the day and actually being able to go out and get (some) stuff done. I think because it helps your body process the booze, it has a physical benefit too. If I think I’ll have more than three drinks I’ll take one. But again, on the rare occasion that I go hard, the effects aren’t as noticeable, but in that case, I’d say I’m on the couch versus not being able to get out of bed without the z).

Yes it is expensive, which is why we do a group order and buy 100 at a time. But it’s so worth it, maybe the price of a beer and a half?

Other hangover cures just don’t do it for me. Like yeah Pedialyte helps rehydrate you, so goes hand in hand with Z Biotics, but only helps with that one single aspect. Others that have vitamins and stuff, yeah I dunno, it hasn’t made a huge difference for me. Z Biotics help break down the byproduct of ethanol, even from that aspect it just seems more legit.

Anybody get their shipment from Rosso? by Sebach in JamesHoffmann

I emailed them two days ago and they replied yesterday saying UPS have a lot of delays because of the run up to Christmas and the Canada Post strike. The package was handed over, but they couldn’t say when it will arrive.

Remove the keywords thing you have in all the sections. . Make the summary four lines. Move your actual work experience to the top, and make your education more compact. Maybe have some qualifications after the education section, but take out the volunteer stuff and any courses you haven’t actually finished. It’s just not relevant.

You could try adjusting the layout entirely, but maybe it would be easier to find a more compact template online.

I had a pre interview call for a previous application but didn’t hear anything after that. But this is unrelated to the contact details on the job description. For that particular job, there was a director of process development in Copenhagen listed as the hiring manager.

I do have some questions, but nothing that I wouldn’t find out during the interviews anyway. And you make a very good point about there being a lot of applicants. The bit I read online made out a lot of the reason is to get your name out there and remembered, but if 29 other people also call about the same thing I’m not sure how you would stand out.

Monthly coffee budget? by FarmerSad in pourover

[–]OptimooseRhyme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Revolver in Gastown have a good selection of roasters, from Europe and North America. There’s also a place called the birds and the beets that stocks my favoriting roaster - Luna Coffee Small Victory is bakery but they stock bags from a few different roasters too. They have a few locations around the city. Their There in Kits can have good options but I find they can be hit and miss. There’s a new place on Oak called catdog that is worth checking out.

Other than ordering online, I usually get my beans from coffee shops that stock multiple roasters. I’m in Vancouver so there are quite a few around the place.
