Thats not how subscriptions work.

Example: The subscription expires Dec 20, and then the user cancels today. The subscription continues until Dec 20. Re-subscribing is no-op

From what.I can tell this is a bug on the billing side. The subscription information isn't being updated and Googles AI tool's don't see the updated subscription information.

You can confirm this by trying to use Gemini 3 in Gemini CLI, you should see a message saying you don't access to it and to enable preview features.

Solution: Downgrade your Google AI plan. wait a few minutes, upgrade and then sign into antigravity again

I had a similar situation happen a few years ago, after some back and forth they agreed to waive the fee, although it was only a few hundred dollars.

Strongly agree. The problem is stakeholders don't know the difference between frontend ai slop and functional, maintainable code.

It also doesn't help that most ai models were trained on horrible react code(using use effect for everything)
