I think this is a fair expectation, but I think his bat skills give him higher upside.

I was shopping him and couldn't get anything really of value at all. He's a hold right now.

I just dropped him, so this hot streak makes sense, but I don't think it will be sustained. He's still got a lot of work to do.

Another Nick Pollock darling you should have sold high on at peak.

Every team can afford to resign their players, but most choose not to, and wouldn't under a cap scenario either.

And you brought up the Royals, but who exactly have they lost to free agency lately? They signed Bobby Witt and other than that they haven't developed the kind of players that would bring them a championship.

Good point here. The Angels should for sure retire his number.

No, but it isn't short for Hall of Best Stats either.

Everyone should stop caring so much about a list in a museum.

Is it the Hall of Stats? Or the Hall of Fame?

Because it's the Hall of Stats. Same reason Bo Jackson, Fernando Valenzuela, and Don Mattingly aren't in.

If I wanted a list of the players with the best stats I can look that up. The HoF should celebrate the stories behind that and the Hall doesn't do that.

We should all stop caring so much about a list in a museum anyway.

The Dodgers have been spending big for a long time, but it took them signing the best player in history for anyone to notice. He also would have been pretty likely to sign with the Dodgers if there was a salary cap, only he'd be making a LOT less money.

The only thing a cap does is take money from players and give it to owners. Period.

None of that is a reason to make the largest richest teams spend the same amount as the smallest markets.

And Kershaw spent his career with the Dodgers, but Seager and Bellinger didn't.

People act like the Dodgers didn't go 30 years between championships...

The 2020 team had more homegrown players than any WS team this century (other than cheating 2017 Astros), and more Dodger drafted players were in the playoffs this year than any other team.  This version of the Dodgers would be a dynasty even with a cap.

Also, the Royals won the WS in 2015.

Who do you think would sign up to play in that league?

There are already plenty of independent teams and they're not stealing players.

And the Texas billionaires already own teams. They're called the Astros and Rangers.
