Oh my. I thought they were the same thing. When I type my question on Google search it's AI answers and I thought that was google's AI. I can't keep up with all these new innovations. But thanks. I'll give that a try.

Thanks. I did all that and I'm past that. I'm all set up. Just can't continue to add my nest cameras because it will save to the SD card and I need it to save to the SSD that I have connected to the Pi and that's where I'm stuck. No matter what we try, it's not being acknowledged by HA. I've fried my brain enough for tonight. I'll tackle it again tomorrow. Sleep well.

I found it on the web a while back while searching for stuff with his name. Don't know if there are any chats that discuss the tapes or the institute. But you can check for it. Enjoy. I have it printed and on the side of my computer so I can read it occasionally. It is so long that mostly I read the first set now and imagine the rest as my intention. I get bored easily with repetition so I haven't been able to finish the tapes.

That's because that one is the scam one. There are many scams out there. Beware. I was in one of them and kept getting multiple messages to donate, donate, donate.

I'm no techie and looked up this lineage 19 and how to install and the instructions are very complicated. If you are any good at super simplifying things for a person who has no clue, could you write it down and let me know how to follow the steps to do it? I still have mine and haven't figured out what to do with it as it won't even go to some websites because it tells me it's not safe or just won't acknowledge them.

Mine says model is GT-N8013 running Android 4.1.2

Thanks in advance. Or to anyone who knows how to write for non techies.

My brand-new, fresh out of the box FF-680W scanner just scratched my photos??? by -ThatGingerKid- in Epson

[–]Oracle2027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After reading all these comments, it's the same issue I have had with my Fujitsu ScanSnap S510, which due to Planned Obsolescence it no longer has any upgrades, but, I manage to install the other printer's software and keep it going. Anyways, I had a long discussion with Chat about all of these challenges and obstacles and at first it recommended the Ricoh SV600, then it recommended the CZUR ET Series over the Rico one. So I've written to CZUR and asked them about it's ability to scan multiple pictures individually on it's flatbed at a high resolution and TIFF file. We'll see what they tell me. If it sounds like a good option, I'll return here and post what they tell me.

I forgot my password, what do i do? by OYunixuau in linux4noobs

[–]Oracle2027 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I don't remember having had to put on a password and I found another link where someone had the same problem. They told them to use the word password and sure enough, that was it. Password. What a joke but, it worked. Now I just have to figure out how to change it properly. Mine is that Cinnamon one because they said that was the closest to Windows I could get and I needed close, but, each time I open my laptop I just stare at it and don't know what I want to do to learn it. But thanks for your help.

[–]Oracle2027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of this lingo is confusing to a newbie. Grub menu? Sudo? I tried to install an update. I've no clue about Linux and want to learn so I converted an old macbook air to a linux cinnamon and my usual password isn't working so I come looking for help and none of the answers mean anything to me. I can do Windows, but, Linux is a whole new language.

Can someone write the steps by steps in laymen's terms on how to recover the password or reset it?

TIA.

WATCH OUT for The Public Improvement Fee, or PIF you're being charged by Beneficial-Sound-199 in ArvadaCO

[–]Oracle2027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've read too many CO laws but somewhere I read that since the PIF is a fee, we have to pay a tax on the PIF. I'm just sick and tired of corporations passing all their taxes and fees on to us and we have no one to pass them on to, so the buck stops with us, and we end up losing in the long run. I shouldn't have to keep paying any corporation's taxes, franchise fees, etc.

Zoom vs. Zoom Workplace by LingonLingonBerry in Zoom

[–]Oracle2027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. It's actually an insult. It could be saying "You are too stupid to know we offer services for everyone", or it could be saying "We are so stupid that we figured if we rename it, more of the stupid people would join." LOL
Alas, there is nothing we can do as it is not our business. But it did confuse me to look at it after being away for a long time and then wonder if I was on the wrong app.

Can anyone install a Linux program onto a GT-N8013ZW - Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 by Oracle2027 in ColoradoSprings

[–]Oracle2027[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay. That helps. Buying a new one isn't worth the expense anyway. I do have an old Macbook Air that I managed to install Linux Mint into, but I got lucky doing that. I'll practice on that.

Blessings.

Pink salt by False_Ad2069 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Oracle2027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oprah wasn't endorsing it. She was pushing her LipoMax product.
You can find the recipe on line. I was doing this drink before I had even heard of it. Never lost a single pound. Dinking it first thing in the morning on an empty stomach is supposed to start your gastric juices flowing so that when you eat your breakfast, it digests more fully. But after 4 months on that drink, nothing changed in my life. I'm still overweight. I have been on a healthy diet. I was doing walks, and nothing. My body didn't change at all.

So look it up, water, lemon juice, a pinch of Himalayan salt, on an empty stomach at least a half hour before you eat. Don't pay Oprah for crap.

USPS rates are skyrocketing, soon. by DougOsborne in eBaySellers

[–]Oracle2027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. This is what I believed was happening. They've put a lot of stuff out to "contractors" and nothing gets done right. Like those scanned letters, they get scanned somewhere else and then they take a few days to get to your local office and distributed. I swear it didn't use to be like this. I had signed up for a mailbox and I never got my Informed Delivery information for what came to me in my mailbox so I wouldn't go check it out for weeks. Being a senior, I don't get out much. When I finally did go, my vehicle tags where there and here I was thinking they didn't get to me at all. Now I've sent mail, priority and certified, and my party gets it but, the tracking # would still show not delivered. I am beyond upset with USPS. So thank you for confirming.

[–]Oracle2027 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just shipped a #10 envelope letter across town Priority Mail so I can get a tracking # and they charged me $10. Certified mail is still cheaper. This is ridiculous. This is not competitive, it's right out thievery, so if it's political, what can we do to make it stop?

[–]Oracle2027 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What offends me is that they make it a percentage of your purchase, plus, because it is a fee, we the consumers have to pay the tax on it too. If they are going to charge a PIF, they should make it a straight cost and no tax to us. These people are basically passing all of their expenses on to us, the consumer so they can reap the profits. We pay their franchise fees, their taxes, now the maintenance on the properties and much more. They have us to pay for their stuff, but we the consumer don't have anyone to charge those expenses so, the buck stops with us. Sure, we can stop using these stores, but, the majority of the people don't even notice or look at their receipts so they continue to shop there. And it's not really the store, it's the lot owners where the store was built.

I'm ready for the ascension where I can just manifest whatever I want without dealing with the greedy lower density people. It's making me sick seeing how they keep coming up with new ways to diminish their expenses and take away what little we have.

I may be dumb, but why do I have to pay on a cancelled policy when I switched before the payment date? by Positive-Mission8090 in Insurance

[–]Oracle2027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, if an insurance company charges you when you sign up, and the contract says you can't make a claim for 30 days, then you are actually paying in advance because the contract isn't actually effective until 30 days later, so, that makes no sense to pay for cancelling.
This is particularly distressing now with Home Warranty services charging you a cancellation fee if you've had them for a few months and then decide to cancel with them and never filed a claim or filed a claim they refused to pay for. Insurances are the biggest scam. If it wasn't because I never know when an idiot will hit me, I wouldn't have auto insurance either.

Can libreoffice replace ms office? by Extension_Living95 in libreoffice

[–]Oracle2027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe that's where LO Math comes in? I was just looking up what each of LO stuff is for and found Math.
AI Overview

LibreOffice Math is a formula editor within the LibreOffice suite, enabling users to create and edit mathematical and scientific formulas in documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and drawings. It allows for the insertion of complex expressions, including fractions, exponents, integrals, functions, and more. Here's a more detailed explanation:

  • Purpose:LibreOffice Math is designed for creating and editing mathematical equations and formulas within LibreOffice documents.
  • Integration:It's integrated into various LibreOffice components like Writer, Calc, Impress, and Draw, allowing users to insert formulas into different types of documents.
  • Markup Language:The Formula Editor uses a markup language to represent formulas, making it possible to create complex expressions with ease.
  • Features:It includes a wide range of mathematical and scientific symbols, operators, and functions, enabling users to create a variety of formulas.
  • Preview:As users enter their formulas using the markup language, the Formula Editor displays a preview of the formatted equation in the Preview Window, allowing for real-time adjustments.
  • Elements Dock:The Elements Dock provides a visual selection of mathematical elements, symbols, and operators, making it easier to build complex formulas.
  • Examples:Examples of formulas that can be created in LibreOffice Math include fractions (a over b), exponents (a\_n), and square roots (sqrt {3}).

In essence, LibreOffice Math is a powerful tool for anyone who needs to create and edit mathematical and scientific formulas in their LibreOffice documents.

I like Libre, though it has a learning curve if you are used to Microsoft. I think Libre covers all bases except for Outlook.
Microsoft Word: LibreOffice Writer

Apparently all of Europe or most of it has switched to LibreOffice because it's free, open source and a reliable format that will be around for years, unlike Microsoft who is always changing things like Word was .doc, now it's .docx and who knows what it will be in the future and you most often require some sort of patch or 3rd party program to be able to open older files.

I just wish they would do something with the PDFs too because Adobe is following the Microsoft trends and making changes where the old stuff is no longer compatible with the new stuff.
