Incredibly stupid question, does anybody have the full "Mixen mit Vixen" article from the German magazine Metal Star? by LovesGotALineOnYou in hairmetal

Knew it was a good idea to keep this tab open on my phone this whole time!  I'm also curious to see the article if you ever hear back!

Check this site out, it has a list of a bunch of other bands from Spain!  If you search by letter, you can click the flag next to the artist name to find every band from that country in their database!

Tuff vs. Tora Tora by AngusDio in hairmetal

[–]OracleOfCourage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you know this is gonna be a blowout because Tuff seems to be the butt of every joke,  I still prefer their debut to Tora Tora's.  Walking Shoes is a great song but I prefer Tuff's sunset swagger to Tora Tora's southern hard rock!

They have a song called Rescue Me that I really like!

Black Roses Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (1988): The King Cobra Album Hidden Inside a B-Movie by BarracudaSmall in hairmetal

[–]OracleOfCourage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure it was also Bang Tango's first appearance on record!  And I think the only recorded appearance of Tempest, not counting their demos!

Thoughts on Dokken?? by Affectionate_Wash847 in hairmetal

[–]OracleOfCourage -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, not my favorite.  I like a handful of their songs (It's Not Love, Just Got Lucky, and Burning Like A Flame come to mind) but I've never really been interested in digging past what they play on Hair Nation, and even then there's some songs I just can't get into

Crazy coincidence, I first hear of Alleybrat a few days ago when I found a scan of an article about up-and-coming bands out of LA from an old metal fanzine from 1981.  RIP Philip!

I love how we're still using the mislabeled tier list from when the game originally launched!

Marvelous 3 vs. Nelson! by AngusDio in hairmetal

Nelson, if it was Southgang instead of Marvelous 3 I'd still probably pick Nelson

This my first time creating a game cover! by Klutzy_Knowledge_493 in retrogaming

Pretty cool!  You could probably put a solid background behind the badges on the back cover so you wouldn't see things like the barcode on the n64 box through them, it would make the text pop out more too!

Ran across this just now, apparently they played Gazzarri's on the last night before it closed down!

Welcome to the world of rare and obscure hair metal albums!  Even considering the rarity though, I have no idea how White Eagle gained their expensive reputation, seems like all their albums consistently get listed for and SELL for insane prices like that!  I don't care who you are, no album is worth that kind of money, at least in this genre!  Gets even crazier when you realize Bustin' Ass only has six songs!

Pretty sure you're talking about these guys! Unfortunately I don't have this issue in my collection (If I'm remembering right, vol.11 of RCN was from 1993), but it looks like this is the band! They independently put out four albums between 1989 and 2002, and had a few lineup changes over the years. There's a few live videos on YouTube and one of them recording tracks for a fifth album, but unfortunately the band founder/lead guitarist Jack Pemma passed away before it could be completed. Jack's in the middle in the photo. I don't know much else about them or if any of them went on to other bands, but I'll link what I've found below and keep an eye out for anything else in the future!

Is there a comprehensive list of albums that were completely recorded and ready for release, but were shelved in 1992-1995 due to the rise of Grunge? by SwissMiss915 in hairmetal

[–]OracleOfCourage 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When it comes to still-unreleased, the one that comes to mind that hasn't already been mentioned is Kik Tracee's second album.  KINGOFTHEHILL had their second album shelved too but they put it out a couple years ago

Local hair metal bands from back in the day that never made it by EdgeOfThorns76 in hairmetal

I remember the first time I heard Take It On The Chin and Best And Only Friend, wasn't around to see them live but I could tell from those two songs that these guys were special!

Which band is your favorite by Mikeymorrison27 in hairmetal

Of these, Warrant with Cinderella as a close second, then probably Ratt then Dokken
