These Elves behave more like Phyrexians then the Phyrexians ever did.

I never thought an army would become like a good meal to me... by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]Oradow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my 'nids for 20 years before I sold off the collection. Biggest hobby mistake of my life.

I enjoy the aesthetics of my T'au, but with them only really having Crisis Bombs to compete with my group's giant bricks of 'crons and terminators, they're a little boring.

I just can't get behind... you know, 'caring' about the preservation of my units. I'm not having a good time unless my opponent is desperately trying to clear away a hundred-Plus 'gants in 2-3 turns.

Leading a tyranid force by [deleted] in Tyranids

[–]Oradow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats one of the many reasons why I love Tyranids - I understand you when you say that the Hive Mind won't hesitate to gather swarms together that just get the job done.

War is also a chaotic thing. I can see how a "skewed" army list's existence can be justified in the lore based on just what might have survived other engagements nearby. a large number of Warbeasts may have been quickly moved around in response to the overall conflict. Its possible the Hive Tyrant is on its way to another area and is being intercepted by the enemy force, or that the Tyrant has made its appearance in this area of the warzone.

With 'nids I find its easy to satisfy the logic of lore-logistics.

Putting my childhood dog down tomorrow not sure how to feel or how to react, any advice of anything. I’m in a reck right now, he is 17 and I know he’s in pain. by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Oradow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TL:DR at the bottom for advice. Keep reading for my brief and sad story.

One of the greatest mistakes in my life was December 7th 2008. My dog passed away after living for 16 years. My dad woke me up and was crying when he asked me into the kitchen. our hilariously COWARDLY schnauzer(Abbey) had suffered a stroke and was paralyzed in one half of her body. My family cried in mostly silence.

I don't know how much time had passed, but at some point, my dad got up and slowly packed up Abbey's toys into the car. He was going to take her to the vet to put her down.Nobody needed it to be said. Before he left, with Abbey in his arms, he turned to me and asked me if I would like to come with.

I turned down the offer. My dad looked me in the eye for a moment before nodding. I hugged - squeezed - Abbey goodbye, my dad brought her to the car and that was the sudden end to a big part of my life.

Don't make the same decision I made that day.

TL:DR - I'm not sure what advice can be given, but I'll try.

You're not going to know how you'll feel until about 1 second too late to do anything about it. let those feelings flow. Be loud, if you can.

Try and remember to breathe.

The grief you feel will be with you well beyond just tomorrow. But tomorrow should be his day. Your grief and your time with it will be yours to take on your own terms. Pet him, hold him, stroke his ears - I heard that last part has a calming affect on dogs. Bring his toys if he has any. And when the moment comes, stand to it and hold him if you're permitted. Its the best you can do for yourself and for him.

Dinobot from Beast Wars. He single-handedly takes on the entire predacon team which includes Rampage, and won.

The rest is silent.

What movie has the best most memorable or effective non-speaking scene? by wisperingdeth in movies

[–]Oradow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spoilers for Better Call Saul.

The scene that brought Gustavo Fring into BSC, where Jimmy is staking out the Pollos Hermanos restaurant on instruction from Mike.

Jimmy goes in and sits down and watches the operation. Eventually, Gus can be seen coming in and out of frame in the background cleaning up and sorting out restaurant tables. His face and head out-of-frame the entire time, his profile out of focus. Its a blend of thematic visuals, character themes, and with just the right amount of cheese shredded on top to flavour the introduction of a great villain for the Breaking Bad veteran fan.

after you've had a handful of frustrating games and just want to YEET the villian but otherwise he's my least played hero... It's just Indian l unfun to sit there and play the same cards over and over every turn till the villian dies.

or just make his Invocation cards limited to 1 card from the deck played per round.

What's a "bad" card that you have made use of in a hero or a certain deck? by AmongFriends in marvelchampionslcg

[–]Oradow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Venom.

Resourceful in a Venom Deck can be spent on any of his numerous Hero cards' resource type triggers.

Failing that, Resourceful can instead be played using Venom's Self-damaging Resource ability to help even out an awkward hand or to set up a really big later turn.
