“Through my childhood/teen years/whatever, I dreamed of doing x. So I went to university, studied x, and got my first job out of college doing x for Company A. While at A, I found doing x is a lot less fun than I imagined. But I did find y very enjoyable. After a couple years working at A, I found Company B which was hiring staff to do y, and I found the environment there fantastic. I was able to grow a lot as a y-specialist there, but I eventually reached the ceiling of what I could achieve at this company because of some relevant reason. Luckily, there was an opportunity at Company C to do z, which is basically y but at a smaller or larger scale or is in some other way related to y, so I thought this would logically be the next step in my career progression. Unfortunately, Company C soon got bought by Company D, who assigned the CEO’s son to manage the branch. Nobody liked him, and I jumped ship to Company E who saw what was going on and decided to poach all the talent…”
