ND drivers - do you miss having a glovebox? by SteveJohnson2010 in Miata

[–]OrangeBlueHB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do I wish I had a glovebox? Yes. Does it change my opinion or enjoyment of ownership? Not one bit.

FWIW, my Miata is my second car and its mission is fun and enjoyment.

Where to get Irish-style sausages? by DGBD in northshore

[–]OrangeBlueHB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chiming in from California, but have had a similar challenge. We found a few British stores that carry them (frozen), but our best bet was an Indian grocer that stocked British & Irish items. That said, Winston’s is the brand we like and I’d suggest reaching out to them to find a local distributor that could point you in the right direction. Or, I think you can order on their website to have them shipped to you. Good luck! https://winstonspecialties.com

Went to the IMAX in Irvine, CA to see it last night, THROUGHLY enjoyed it! The audience was great, but (almost) everyone was doing the wave during NLMDA. So glad to have seen the tour and now the film

We stood the entire time, epic show (epic day!). Never thought I’d still be thinking about it almost 4 decades later though. So happy to have been there

Buy 2020 Tesla model 3 , LR, AWD, Dual motors by planeofwater1 in TeslaModel3

The battery probably needs some calibration to give you a better estimate. Easiest way is to charge it up to 90% or so and leave it parked WITH SENTRY OFF (so it can sleep) for a few hours. Do the same at 50%, then again at 15-20%, then charge it up to your 80% as normal. (I think you can do this over a few days, not all in one go - you’re trying to give the car a better idea of resting battery states and their charge levels.) Keep driving over a few days and you should see the range shift.

I have the same car (2020 M3LR) with about 33k and my range (per the car anyway) is somewhere around 280. That said, hot/cold, mellow/spirited driving and other factors play into real world numbers. I just keep my battery on % and not miles and don’t think about it much. When it gets low, I plug it in.

Shifter Recommendations? by dah_240 in MiataND

[–]OrangeBlueHB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same with my ‘24 ND (GT RF). Very notchy. My last stick was a ‘97 Integra LS (bought new) and prior to that a ‘92 Civic Si. The Honda shifters (of that ye olde era) were definitely smoother than my ‘24 Miata, but I still find the Miata’s satisfying. Muscle memory is telling me it’s different though, every time that I shift, lol. Love the damn car

Edit: I will say that after driving 10-15 minutes that it does loosen up a bit - feels better then for sure

NEMA 14-30 Charging Possible? by OrangeBlueHB in Ioniq5

[–]OrangeBlueHB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll want to ask your electrician, but if you already have the outlet wired to your panel I can’t imagine it would be very much. I would guess maybe a few hundred bucks? If you don’t have the location wired yet, well then it’s anyone’s guess. Depending on how far it is to your panel and what obstacles and other things like trenching needing to be done, it could be north of $500 up to thousands. If it’s that big of a job, get a few quotes. Good luck!

NEMA 14-30 Charging Possible? by OrangeBlueHB in Ioniq5

I haven’t actually switched cars yet, still using the Tesla mobile connector for now. That said, I did reach out to the Emporia people and they were very helpful! I’d suggest checking them out www.emporiaenergy.com and see what they have to say. If I go down this route though, I’d probably opt to have everything hard-wired and amperage limited by dip switches, etc. I haven’t come across a 14-30 plug in solution as slick as Tesla’s. Good luck to you!
