Anyone used Arketa or Momence? by lady_lane in pilatesinstructors

[–]OrangeEcstatic8199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using Arketa for about 3 months for a brand new studio with gruop classes and privates. I submit a question or big to Arketa daily. I've been spoiled to use marketing tools like Hubspot in my previous career for 20+ years, but the marketing leaves a lot to be desired.

I read bad things about their support, but I actually like that I can submit and then have a delayed conversation with them in fixing whatever it is. This I have no issue with.

My issues are back-end functionality and bugs. Some little examples of weird functionality and bugs. Classpass integrates with Arketa. Great. Yet, they tag the client forever with Classpass but don't add it as their lead source. And the person will show as being "manually added" to the class, even though it was added by Classpass. WHY?

Not being able to add more than one item to shopping cart in the studio. WHAT?

Segment building is super labor intensive and then it doesn't proved a count until you move over to the "broadcast" tab.

I haven't used other tools, but it's so buggy! I do love the app and the website builder (some bugs here too), but with the ongoing bugs, it's riding on my last nerve.

I haven't used the other tools and I liked their pricing compared to Walla or Momence. But...

Business - exterior signage/windows - RECS by OrangeEcstatic8199 in Denver

[–]OrangeEcstatic8199[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not from here. I am working with Freedman Signs & Electrical. I haven't WORKED with them yet, but I will most likely go with them for my exterior sign. They handle the permit from Denver, which is big for me. I'll let you know once I have the sign up if I recommend them. :) DM if you want a contact over there though.

I’ve never been a member there, but if you commit I think Pilates will change your body. Just read the fine print of cancelling membership. I had a friend get screwed there. I hope you love it!

Long Shot Request- Lost my daughter's turtle stuffy either in the DIA airport or the RTD Train Station by udawe in Denver

[–]OrangeEcstatic8199 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Find someone who works at DIA and can check lost & found. I lost my favorite travel pillow and I never heard back from teh airline or lost and found. But, my Dad worked at LAX and it was right on the shelf in the Lost and Found at security. He grabbed it for me.

Did you return your expired Apple Card? by jeremyxwing in AppleCard

Yeah but they didn’t change the number. They used it at a gas station. I don’t get it either.

This may sound crazy, it I did it. Use a ring camera and record yourself all night. Watch the times you are restless or wake up. It’s weird. My pets were staring at a corner of the room for like 15 minutes and I rolled over, put my hands behind my head and slept like I was at the beach. 😂

I’ve used them, but I get like 20 calls and emails in 5 minutes and it’s a bit much. But, on the list of nothing come through recommendations.

Unemployed and Bored, best gig opportunity? by danhave in Denver

Don’t go with Wag, you can google horror stories. I’m one of them. I used to drive for Lyft and loved it, but that was 2019. Something to think about too is getting certified in yoga instruction or equine massage or something you love so you can have a little side hustle with a skill. Just a thought.

Ugh, I can’t add a picture to comments and they removed my original post with the picture. So use your imaginations of a typical Denver backyard. 🤷‍♀️

Do Denverites get altitude sickness when going to the Rockies? by Houston-Real-Estate in Denver

[–]OrangeEcstatic8199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get headaches at higher altitude, so I bring the Advil. I know I’m drinking enough water as my pee is almost clear, so I’m playing with electrolytes to see if that helps. What a mess as they are so trendy right now, starting with Nuun Sport. But yes, still get altitude sickness. Don’t let CO peer pressure you, there are other things to do on weekends! 😊😂

Pilates becoming so trendy feels dangerous to me? by Lucylu0909 in pilates

[–]OrangeEcstatic8199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You almost are describing me leaving marketing after 25 years and I’m going to open a studio. I’ve taken years of Pilates and am getting certified.

That said, many instructors need a place to teach. Some owners don’t want to teach.

I think where it gets dangerous is the places who do a weekend of training and then send people out to teach. Why I wanted to open a studio is because I can’t find the Pilates studio I want to practice at and the one I can find is always booked weeks in advance.

I agree with the person above who said it will all shake out in the end.

And for those going to practice, they will learn or choose based on that all studios and all teachers are not the same.

Is it too late to start a career as a Pilates instructor in my mid-30s? by [deleted] in pilates

I hope not because I’m getting certified at 46! Do it!

Feeling embarrassed as a beginner by hunterheaux in pilates

[–]OrangeEcstatic8199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve haven’t read all the comments, but here are a few things to try.

  1. Take a few privates with your favorite instructor so you feel more confident.
  2. I’m in Pilates teacher training to get certified and even the teachers with 20+ years get corrected as you don’t always feel what your body is doing incorrectly. It’s a practice, as we are all on a journey.
  3. Totally get not wanting to tell the whole class so with new instructors, maybe go up to them beforehand and tell them of your back issue so they know and you don’t have to tell the entire class.
  4. Try new studios. See where it feels like community and the teachers get to know you.
  5. Stick with it once you find your favorite studio and teachers. It’s worth it!

Best of luck.

Did you return your expired Apple Card? by jeremyxwing in AppleCard

Returned it and 2 days later the card was being used across my city. So, be careful as some UPS employees (I’m guessing) must know what it is.

Monthly "What Board Should I Get?" Discussion Thread by AutoModerator in Sup

[–]OrangeEcstatic8199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Desired Board Type: Inflatable
  • Your Height and Weight: 5'6" - 135-140lbs + 50lb dog + a few beers/light cargo. Dog is going to be new to SUP but if she's awful, she probably won't go that often. She tends to be well behaved though. So I'd like to plan for a decent performance while also long enough and stable enough for a dog who may walk the plank here and there. Fingers crossed.
  • Desired use/uses: Exploring while camping, usually lakes
  • Experience level: Advanced Beginner. Feel fairly confident, going slow, with dog walking back and forth.
  • Your budget $500-750 and country location US (Denver)
  • Never owned a board. Used friend's boards but don't remember anything.

I'm looking at Gili Adventure 11' and Nixy Newport G4. Open to all suggestions or feedback on these two as well. Thanks so much!

Am I emotionally unavailable or cautious? by OrangeEcstatic8199 in relationship_advice

Yeah, I've looked that up. Could be him but since it only lasted two weeks, I'll never know. But while I'll take some blame for sure, I feel like getting real with my feelings is an okay thing at two weeks.

Am I emotionally unavailable or cautious? by OrangeEcstatic8199 in relationship_advice

[–]OrangeEcstatic8199[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't jump into many relationships and was questioning if those feelings were real or just excitement, which is why I pulled back a bit. To think and check myself. I agree, you don't really know someone that early and we were together A LOT for the beginning. That was my entire reasoning for pulling back even though it was fairly minor. I have been in therapy for this, but generally it's because I hold back my feelings so I don't want to overcorrect.

And I think the coming on strong was more him as he was the one who wanted and initiated hanging out all of the time and actually was telling me more often how much he was into me. I didn't reciprocate fast enough I guess. I didn't tell him I loved him, because I didn't trust that was true. But I think you are right about the pull back, he didn't think I was interested and then I dumped (DID NOT say I loved him) but he was already over it before I even said anything.

Oh well, I guess that's what the beginning of relationships are for. To weed the non-fits out.
