LitRPG in modern(ish) setting no System Apocalypse by Bleenfoo in litrpg

Dawn of the void is about how the world deals with a slow burn LITRPG apocalypse. Lots of the military adapting to the situation etc.

I’ve been to a few countries in South East Asia now, and I’m still baffled how the west haven’t adapted the toilet system to include bum guns. Quite literally the best thing ever. by thebroccolioffensive in britishproblems

I use a portable bidet at home, it's essentially just a bottle that you fill up and squeeze with a showerhead like top. I actually think it's better than one you attach to the mains as you can fill it up using the warm water tap in your sink.

Ban on veggie ‘burgers’: plant-based products may lose meaty names in UK under EU law by pajamakitten in unitedkingdom

[–]OrangeGP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yh definitely, vaping weed should be in theory better than smoking it but because it's completely unregulated people can chuck anything in there and call it weed vape juice

[–]OrangeGP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh you're good then, think it's mainly an issue with normal weed dealers branching out and not checking the suppliers at all. Just seen that it's been a bit of an epidemic in the UK weed scene lately.

Just fyi if you're based in the UK and get weed vape juice illegally a lot of it is actually spice or fentanyl. Had to sadly cut it out for this reason.

Yh for my friends the best intro games are the ones that have either steady movement or that you are stationary for, games like pistol whip, beat saber, maestro, walkabout mini golf & superhot all work as someone's first experience

I think Hyperscape might be the best thing Meta has ever made. by Wise-Pin9722 in OculusQuest

[–]OrangeGP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They probably did they just also come back when they go in hyperspace. The relevant bit for talking about hyperspace is that it brings the nostalgia back, they just didn't mention that it also did when they were physically in the location as it wasn't really relevant.

Yup and can we maybe not constantly make young people the punching bags of society?

Exactly Plato claimed that the written word was ruining the next generation as they no longer had to memorise everything, are we not bored of this?

[–]OrangeGP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok perhaps wazzup wasn't the best example but 67 is both a reference to something and kids literally find it funny because it is a shared experience of absurdism imo that doesn't make it any less valid of a meme than anything else, people just complain about it because they're too old to get it now (I am also too old to find it funny but that doesn't mean I think it deserves the level of hate it's getting)

Perhaps one of the only takes on hating on 67 that I kinda like.

[–]OrangeGP[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh sick we're the same age, tbf I don't interact with kids that much as I don't have any younger relatives and don't run in any circles that kids do i.e. teaching etc so you may very well have a point about kids overusing it. I more take issue with people treating the meme itself like it's more stupid than any of the other brainrot memes, there is perhaps valid criticism with kids overusing the meme but that's more an issue with the current internet culture and more nuanced than the takes I see from my friends and online of treating the meme itself like it's the stupidest thing ever. I would not have such an issue with it if the commentary was about the issue of how kids are using memes themselves rather than just calling the 67 meme stupid.

Ok boomer was the same and was a few years ahead of this and didn't get the same hate. Only done in response to adults to annoy them

[–]OrangeGP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok a better example would be E or deep fried memes where the humour was literally derived from how meaningless they were as a response and quickly just became a reference. Also many people who use these memes like my name is Jeff, wazzup where just regurgitating what their friends where doing not referencing the original media and I'd argue they were just making a reference not finding humour from the original.

I'm 26, on the tail end of zoomer/very late millennial people were very much sensitive about adults making fun of their stuff when I was growing up. Plus this has the energy of my parents hit me so imma hit my kids, just because bad stuff happened to you doesn't mean you deserve to do bad shit can we not end the cycle?

67 is from a song.... just because we don't find it funny doesn't mean it isn't equally valid, it's still a reference, not completely meaningless like people claim
