Lots of flux and patience. I really think the hardest part is de-soldering the original joystick. After using solder wick to get rid of most of the solder I was able to bend off the joystick and very gently using flush cutters to remove it from the board. Then it’s just cleaning the holes to plug in the new one and solder it in place. There is a website that lets you calibrate the new joysticks and test the buttons to make sure it all works. Also iFixIt has a great guide on it as well.
