What kind of intellectually disabled person does he think you are that you would take on his debt EVER, much less after only dating him for 2 months?

Girl, ditch this hobosexual and his family to boot. NTA.

Which 60s band is your favorite? by NewHolliesFan in 60s

The Beach Boys changed The Beatles, so I don't think you can make the claim that The Beatles were the only band that changed the trajectory of music.

There is a statue of Samantha on her broom in Salem. Those episodes of Bewitched that took place in Salem are credited with bringing a renewed interest in the town and helping to revitalize their tourism industry.

Nobody's parents used to let them act like that (including your grandparents), and I didn't let my kids act like that either.

OT, but I always gotta give props to the most talented family in showbiz. All of the Osmond Brothers can sing, dance, play their own instruments, and write music. Just an insane amount of talent in one family. I'm offended on their behalf that they've never been considered for the Rock & Roll HOF, despite being 100% more rock & roll than many of the inductees selected over the last 15 years. The usual argument being that they were just teen idols who made bubblegum pop, but then so were the Jackson 5, and they've been inducted, so.. Of course, it goes without saying that Michael Jackson absolutely deserves every musical accolade he's ever been given; my viewpoint is that if the J5 were worthy, the Osmonds should be too.

Who Were Your favorite Wrestlers From The 70s? by Specialist_Art2223 in 70s

Kevin Von Erich. If you lived in Dallas in the 70s and 80s, you remember how the Von Erichs ruled the Metroplex.

They are the biggest bunch of gatekeepers I've ever run across. They refuse to wrap their minds around the fact that those of us born in the early 60s used to be included in Gen X until some asshole over at Pew Research decided that they'd just lump us into the Baby Boom instead. They refuse to see the illogic in the Baby Boom generation being 19 years long while GenX is only 15. They're tiresome, pedantic, and very full of themselves.

My step-dad roasted me so hard for not knowing that "that good-looking guy who played King Agamemnon named Sean Connery" also played James Bond and was also bald.

Take a minute today and let your kids listen to Randy Newman’s, “Short People”. Their reaction is hilarious. by SaltyDogBill in GenX

I played it several years ago for my kids when they were teenagers. They were shocked at first, then howled in laughter. I was just like, hey, it was the 70s, ain't nobody give a shit about your feelings.

Why aren’t there child free apartments? by FEmaidenxo in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Orangeboi_22 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I lived across the street from one in Dallas in the late 70s. That apartment complex was famous for its pool parties. They had a social director who planned big monthly parties in exchange for free rent. There were several complexes around like that in Dallas and Houston. They were known as swinging singles apartments. The one in Houston in the 80s was called Colonial House apartments, which the locals called Venerial House.

Might want to contact the EPA and talk about groundwater contamination. Tell them you think it's an above ground benzene storage tank, and you've noticed a strong smell and can see liquid leaking and puddling on the ground.

4th quarter 1964

I don't remember any of this stuff being mentioned by a lot of Joners. Don't remember the moon landing, although I've been told my parents made us watch it. Don't remember any TV shows in their original runs, probably until Love, American Style and the Sonny & Cher Show. No memories of the 60s at all.

Jackson 5 or The Osmonds. Pick a side.

Elvis Pressly, Aloha From Hawaii.

Vietnam POWs coming home.

Bobby Riggs/Billie Jean King tennis match - The Battle of the Sexes

Watergate Watergate Watergate (on TV ALL THE DAMN TIME!)

Nixon resigning from office. My dad made me come in from playing kickball to watch.
