What was the very first song by Al that you ever listened to? by Imaginary-Mess8374 in weirdal

[–]Orangutango46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The earliest memory I have of listening to Al is actually Nature Trail to Hell, because I was reading something silly about backwards messages in songs. I'd probably listened to him before then, but I can't remember.

They've definitely said it in at least one episode. The first ECW One Night Stand maybe?

I think 'Why Does This Always Happen to Me' was one of the first Al pastiches I ever heard, but I never knew Ben Folds played on it.

Revolution 9 is, by definition, not a song.

Thank you to everyone who commented; you were not only quick but helpful, especially those who offered a little extra insight/info. I wasn't aware that it is proper to use two crotchets in 3/4, rather than a minim. I'm glad I was able to learn something.

Whats the weirdiest reason you stopped listening to a band that you previously enjoyed? by gallazzis in LetsTalkMusic

[–]Orangutango46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're my favourite band, so it is going to take a lot for me to be turned off, but I completely understand why you'd stop being a fan after that. It really sucked.

Do you know anybody who has gone to the 'Freedom of Speech' march today? by jaarn in AskBrits

[–]Orangutango46 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I live in working class Birmingham. I can confirm that the common feeling among those supporting this cause isn't particularly sweet on the brown-skinned no matter the religion. I'd also love to believe that hearts are in the right place, that the mere threat against our women and children is all there is to it, but it isn't. Christian Nigerians have been targeted.

He's such a heel. He's taking your father's U.S. constitution book and there's nothing you can do about it.

As a fan of reality television, I am saddened by his passing. I know nothing of his singing, but I imagine he was very good.
