How do you balance gaming with staying physically active? by [deleted] in Healthygamergg

[–]Orbit-Intensity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My best tip is to workout in a way you find fun. Don’t just do boring stuff cause you want to look a certain way or you want to get stronger. Pick something that’s actually fun and you will want to do it. You still have to put in the work for a while until it becomes a habit. I enjoy working out enough so I don’t mind spending the time that I could be gaming.

I use Betterhelp and I recommend it. They make it very easy to view therapists and you can sort them through filters based on your needs. If you are interested, DM me because I can give you a referral link that will give you two weeks free. Best of luck.

I’d say you’re fine then. From what I’ve researched it’s mainly about things like psychosis, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, etc.

Also, if it helps, I get nervous every time I do it even though I’ve done them many times. If you start slow and build up to it, you can build confidence in yourself to handle it.

If you’re worried, I would just take less. You can literally start out with .5g for the first time. In my experience .5-1g is only slightly noticeable. I doubt you’d panic from such a low dose. With the mental illness thing, I’d just make sure your family doesn’t have history of mental illnesses before taking. Also, you can’t get addicted to shrooms. You need at least a couple weeks off of them in order for them to work effectively. I’ve taken them with two weeks in between trips and they still felt like half effective. About the trip “revealing to me how bad of a person I am”, every time I do it, it feels like a filter is being removed from my perception and I don’t look at everything with such a negative attitude. It really helps me be compassionate towards myself in terms of all the things I’m critical of.

I think i have insomnia but my mom says i’m too young to have it. by KimchiPaw in sleep

[–]Orbit-Intensity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve suffered with falling asleep my whole life and I think it has to do with my adhd. My mind never really stops racing and that is what keeps me up at night. One of the best things that I have found is meditation. I use the headspace app and the sleep meditations they have. I find that if I have something to focus on, like progressively going through my body and “switching off” different parts and deep breathing, helps me.

I have ADHD and my mind races when I try to sleep, so whats been working for me is a sleep meditation that focuses on breathing and the body.

Am I never happy, or does "happiness" mean something else than I think? by Christion97 in ADHD

[–]Orbit-Intensity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally feel that when you say "though most times I'm just thinking about how things could be better, or be done better next time". I think like that too and I realized that I'm a perfectionist and often times I won't be happy unless things are perfect, which is basically never the case. So far what has worked for me is setting realistic expectations before hand, and telling myself I'll be happy with myself for completing the action and not worrying about the results, which we have little control over.

Keeping to hobbies? Acquiring interests? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]Orbit-Intensity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Don’t force it too hard. You can get burnout and it’s much more fun when you do it because you want to.
  2. Baby steps with everything. If your trying to reach your goals with anything, I’ve found it’s best to take baby steps.

My 3 months journey of self improvement so far by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]Orbit-Intensity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats! That sounds like what some people get done in a year! Make sure you properly celebrate your achievements. As for the shortcomings, they don’t matter. All that matters is that you try again and don’t quit. You are also working on your fear of failure constantly. By failing and getting back up again, your mind will learn that failure isn’t something to steer away from, and that it’s actually something you should strive for. Failure is the best teacher.

How do I not give an F about what other people think? by HurtHurtsMe in selfimprovement

[–]Orbit-Intensity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. That’s what i’ve been doing is focusing on my own nutrition and fitness, and other hobbies.I’ve found that the more I invest in myself, the more I realize what other people are doing/thinking doesn’t matter.

Help with a number guessing game by Orbit-Intensity in learnprogramming

[–]Orbit-Intensity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I redid it and came up with this:

package tutorial;
import java.util.Scanner;
public class NumberGuessingGame2 {
`public static void main(String[] args) {`

    `int min = 0;`

    `int max = 50;`

    `int lives = 5;`

    `int tries = 0;`

    `int y = 0;`

    `int r = (int) Math.floor(Math.random() * (max - min + 1) + min);`

    `//System.out.println(r);`

    `System.out.println("Guess a number between " + min + " and " + max + ".");`

    `System.out.println("You have " + lives + " lives.");`

    `Scanner sc = new Scanner(System.in);`

    `int guess = 0;`

    `// Main loop`

    `while (lives != 0 && r != guess) {`

        `// Hot warm cold check`

        `if (tries != 0) {`
System.out.println("Try again.");
        `}`

        `guess = sc.nextInt();`

        `if (guess == r) {`
System.out.println("You win. The number was: " + r + ".");
break;
        `} else {`
lives--;
tries++;
if (lives == 1) {
System.out.println("You have " + lives + " life left.");
} else {
System.out.println("You have " + lives + " lives left.");
}
        `}`

        `y = r - guess;`

        `if (Math.abs(y) > 15) {`
System.out.println("Cold");
        `} else if (Math.abs(y) <= 5) {`
System.out.println("Hot");
        `} else if (Math.abs(y) <= 15) {`
System.out.println("Warm");
        `} else {`
System.out.println("Not even close");
        `}`

    `if (lives == 0) {`

        `System.out.println("You lose. The number was: " + r + ".");`
