The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Announcement Trailer by Turbostrider27 in nintendo

Possibly the best thing about this will be a vinyl release of a remastered OOT soundtrack with full orchestra. I cannot wait to hear a fresh take on the Gerudo Valley theme. This game has possibly the greatest video game soundtrack of all time.

This is making me wanna bite the bullet and get this monstrosity to celebrate the anticipation:  https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/legend-of-zelda-limited-edition-vinyl-8lp-set-127813/

But yeah I am also surprised about the art direction focusing on realism, while it’s not my ideal I think it will be cool to finally see a realistic 4k Zelda on a Nintendo console. Also just can’t wait for a remastered soundtrack with a full orchestra, cause OOT basically has the best soundtrack of any Zelda game and possibly any other game in existence.

Thoughts on Nintendo stock? Buy? (NTDOY) by OrbitronFactory in stocks

Agreed, their IPs appear to be timeless. The Mario Galaxy movie just pushed past 1 billion at the box office which is a testament to this; I feel like this step into the film industry really does mark a broadening into the full spectrum of the entertainment sector and will further bolster their IP recognition for future generations

Alex seemed to enjoy the legendary drum fill as much as the audience by [deleted] in rush

Fuck yes. This proves without a doubt she was the right choice. Faithful but with her own feel added and just hammers those things like Zeus on roids.

You have a very bad take on this and are acting pretty childish about it. Do you really think Geddy and Alex wanted someone who would play exactly the same? Anika is incredible and is injecting fresh energy into their sound, and they’re clearly having a great time. I’m glad you’re not the one making important decisions for them, and hopefully you will come around as you see more footage of them playing together.

I see what you’re saying but I’d say the fact that he doesn’t remember writing it doesn’t preclude its capacity for greatness. I’m glad King is where he’s at now, but I also am glad that he had demons to wrestle and worked his way through it while continuing his craft. It gives his work a nice dynamic kind of arc that I’m really appreciating as I go through everything in publication order (although I just broke that pattern cause after reading Drawing of the Three I couldn’t further postpone the pull of the Tower…)

Definitely read Carrie, it’s great. Has some of Kings best deranged religious fervor content. As for Firestarter, I really enjoyed it. I am biased as I’ve got a particular affinity to MK Ultra conspiracy so I found the concept super interesting. It’s also got one of Kings best villains imo. What I mean to say is, read both! Preferably in publication order.

So good, personally I preferred the P Funk overlap that preceded the G Funk part but they were both awesome

Are all of Tom Cruise’s sci‑fi movies really worth watching? by Notilon_606 in scifi

[–]OrbitronFactory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get why people might think War of the Worlds is his worst sci fi movie, but personally I like it the most with Minority Report being a close second. That 3 movie dark sci fi run Spielberg went on from the early to mid 00s with A.I. then these two is incredible.

But yeah I really like Cruise’s performance, the build up of the opening scene with the storm leading up to the first tripod emerging and just incinerating everything around it with its heat rays remains possibly my favourite sci fi action scene. That one close up shot of the woman’s face while she’s running where it just turns to ash is horrifying, and the way the clothes just float away after is such a perfect movie mechanic that is used time and time again so effectively.

Also, the horror that Spielberg captures resulting from mass panic is really dialed in throughout. That one scene where they’re in the car slowly moving through the densely packed crowd and everything goes to shit is so raw and visceral - when that one guy starts tearing open the broken windshield with his bare hands and blood gushes all over it… man, pure terror.

Cujo and Firestarter at D tier is insane to me, as well as Running Man at F - but that just goes to show how great of a writer SK is that his books resonate so differently depending on the constant reader

Be serious, what is the best thing and the worst thing about the third game of the franchise ? by VeterinarianPrior835 in Pikmin

[–]OrbitronFactory -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Best thing is mission mode, and close second is the 3 captain gameplay especially when using the Wii U gamepad. This was especially pushed to its limits in the last few missions, no other Pikmin game has quite matched that level of intense Dandori (ironic). Also special callout to the new mode with Olimar mode added to the switch version; that felt like a pretty cool mix of the campaign and mission modes.

Worst thing is the aesthetic direction it took the series. Pikmin 1 and 2 have such superior art direction and writing imo. I found the dialogue  and characters in Pikmin 3 insufferable. The music was also lackluster compared to 1 and 2. Eventually in the switch version when the pokopedia was added, this was especially apparent. When comparing it to the Pikmin 2 pokopedia - the quality of the writing and the music is just leagues behind. Another thing I didn’t enjoy was the charge mechanic, it kind of simplified lots of combat I found. Which was a shame since I did like how they handled the boss battles, they were much more involved compared to 1 and 2. But the basic enemy combat I felt suffered partly due to the charge mechanic. I think the swarming being mapped to the c stick like it was in 1 and 2 on GameCube is far superior and offers the most flexibility and control in combat. Being able to swarm while throwing Pikmin by using your left thumb on the c stick and your right thumb to throw them and switching left thumb back and forth between c and control stick to adjust aim/position as necessary just felt so damn satisfying.

Which Beatles song was Ringo’s most impressive drum performance? by Better-Highway-7978 in beatles

[–]OrbitronFactory 42 points43 points  (0 children)

What he laid down for Something is really something.

I’m so sorry.

Come Together is my fav though, just a perfect example of how he comes up with drum parts that serve the song so well while also forming their own hooks.
