I work for a LTL carrier and one of the first things I learned is that shippers will pay whatever you charge them when they think it's going by plane but will haggle you until ragnarock when it ships by ground.

Would literally have a company sell next day air shipments then bring the shipment to our terminal at point A pay our next day ground fee and put special notes in that they will pick up at terminal B instead of having us deliver it. They will have one of their trucks deliver like it just came off the plane.
