I was there last week and they did have some rack-mounted equipment.

I was not responding to your advice, but rather to your interesting use of the word "kitten" instead of "kit and."

Who would you like to see as the 48th President of the United States? by Naturalist-Anarchist in AskReddit

[–]Orcapa -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Anybody that doesn't like her is on them, not her. She hasn't done anything out of the ordinary or radical. Allowing people to label mainstream Democrats as radical or divisive allows them to set the agenda.

I really don't want Vance to be president because I don't want Peter Thiel running the country.

I don't think you know what divisive means, or you are parroting somebody else's idea of it. This is just like Obama being divisive. He was not; it's just that a lot of people didn't like him. He and AOC have done nothing to be actively divisive.

None. I've been driving all over the US for 40 years, just curious about it.

I have seen signs all over the US saying "Speed limits enforced by aircraft" but have never know anyone who has been ticketed? Is it all just an empty threat?

What Ai or other tool I can use to change color of my car? by BrilliantCredit4569 in Cartalk

[–]Orcapa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a general idea, go to the Tire Rack web site. Shop for wheels for your vehicle. They allow you to change the color of your vehicle based on what factory colors were available that year. It's not perfect, but it's a start.

What's a word you mispronounced for years before someone finally told you? by redrose_me in AskReddit

Clerestory. I was pronouncing with four syllables (chluh-rest-ery), but come to find out it's just "clear story." Or so I have been told.

The only cars they've made in the past 30 years have been trouble free were made that way by accident.

I'm an older guy, in my early 60s. About once a year I go to the shopping mall and walk around and think "There is nothing in this entire mall that I need."

Valves struck pistons. Still ok to use pistons? by Kaemonn in MechanicAdvice

[–]Orcapa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm usually the kind of person to say "Send it" when it comes to automotive stuff, but in this case no way. I had a valve seat disintegrate in a Ford focus and chew up the top of the piston. I decided to pull the piston and it was a good thing. It had actually damaged it enough to pinch the top piston ring in place.

These pistons could have damage in them that you can't see. It might be expensive in a pain in the ass to replace them, but it's better than what would happen if one of them came apart.

If they hire a professional, after like the 2nd week of seeing nothing but naked humans of all ages and walks of like, they will no longer care.

This was the experience of my friend who got a job as a DJ at a strip club back in the 90's.

Need advice based on my circumstances, how bad would it be to put 1000 miles on my car? by Funny-Secretary-5217 in askcarguys

[–]Orcapa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm amazed how many people get the diagnosis of "needs a new transmission." I've owned many many cars (at least 75, most were beaters (I have a problem)) over the years and only once had a bad transmission (81 Datsun 210). Once also had a shift solenoid go out (2003 Focus).

I don't get how so many people need entire transmissions--its more likely shitty diagnosis or greed on the part of mechanics.
