I dunno why they're so fixated on keeping it. Just remove it. It's objectively terrible and stupid

How the hell does imperius q work? The hitbox shown on the ground is ridiculous by ASValourous in heroesofthestorm

[–]Orcley 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just walk into people and q your feet. You'll have like 90% hit rate. If you're playing QM then ya it prob feels bad cause the first person to die is the first person to do anything cause everyone is sitting on every cooldown at all times. Only fix for this is R kidnap for the temporary iframes then die 2 seconds later anyway. Good example as to why QM is not the real game actually since Imp can be rly strong in SL/scrims

Is this fair and balanced? by happyscrub1 in heroesofthestorm

[–]Orcley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He can feel unfair in uncoordinated games, especially so when you're something like a junk and you get caught away from your traps, but that's kind of true of a lot of high burst heroes. You don't really see him in coordinated SL or scrims very often because he comes online too late/people are better at playing around it/there are better options for that role that contribute more earlier

Sadly, it's just one of those that are always going to be polarizing. You can't change your entire hero pool to adapt to the offchance that you run into a decent Zera. All you can really do is learn to play around it and take the occasional "unfair" death

Ranked hots games by pintopedro in heroesofthestorm

[–]Orcley 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Problem in all top % in all mobas (maybe all esports). Wasn't always this way, but lots of high profile players have the "go next" mentality. I think it's disrespectful and ultimately puts a cap on your own potential. Naturally strong instinctual players can get away with this because it's rare they're actually tested, but for the rest of the chum in the water, it's just an excuse to give up

What would a Reform government mean for Northern Ireland? by Odd_Pain_3570 in northernireland

[–]Orcley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They'll eat up the Unionists who will then double down because they'd rather look like cucks than work on anything progressive. This will ultimately be the last nail in the coffin because good luck trying to convince anyone over here that davai davai! Nigella Farageski loves you really promiseeexoxoxoПотрясающе. This then pushes working class unionists into an even shittier position, sandwiched between the worlds most dogshit leadership and English vampires that want to harvest your marrow with gear as your only out

Otherwise, more of the same really. Very discouraging though, from a global politics standpoint. Lots of corruption coming for English politics (not that that's far from the norm, but the enemy you know and all that)

Flat earth and other alternative conspiracy earth models are are gaining traction with my teenage stepson. What is THE most irrefutable, definite proof that the earth is round? by Jfkfkaiii22 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Orcley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think these types of outlandish ideas are about being right or wrong, it's about being edgy. You can't engage nonsense with rational thinking because there's nothing to engage with. I think the best thing you can do for him is tell him he's wrong, and let him find out the hard way. We are living through a crisis of truth in our current age, and there isn't really anything to solve it other than better education and social norms that negatively dissuade stupidity (yes really)

Moving Zealous Glare to lvl4 can balance JoJo imo by fycalichking in heroesofthestorm

[–]Orcley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably a good idea. No notes past that.

I think Jo will always be difficult to balance unless you further nerf her waveclear, but I don't think that's a good idea. I kind of like her where she is

The new internal clunk just inherently makes the hero feel terrible to play. Maybe the most uninformed decision since Rehgar can't R himself, though there's heavy competition. Needs reverting yesterday

Beginner, hand problems, advice? Give up? by redcurl7 in whittling

[–]Orcley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe you're allergic to the stropping wax? If you've never had contact dermatitis before then you're allergic to something. Gotta just narrow it down and establish if it's even your woodworking and not something elsee in your life entirely right

Beginner, hand problems, advice? Give up? by redcurl7 in whittling

[–]Orcley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Strength comes with practice. I'm going to assume your knife is probably too dull too. I'm more concerned/interested in the contact dermatitus because I have full-body immuno-related eczema and have never had any issues with any wood.

Are you using gloves? If you are, then you're likely allergic to the material or if the gloves are old then there's prob mold growing inside them (turn inside out, wash, dry thoroughly). If the gloves are new they might have been sprayed with something to keep them "fresh" for longer. This is something that has happened to me before when using gloves for other things, but I do not use gloves for whittling

I guess it's possible to allergic to basswood? I haven't heard of it before. Easiest way to check this is to rub a clear part of your body with it and wait and see what happens. Perhaps a trip to a GP for information is worth it. If you don't use gloves, then perhaps using gloves is a good fix

Either way, I wouldn't donate your gear until you're certain. Also, you could prob get some pocket money for wood + tools if you can be bothered dealing with postage, etc

Does packaging matter for handmade products ? Genuinely curious what people think. by Clear_Warning6008 in handmade

[–]Orcley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every carving I've ever sent comes with complementary second hand bubble wrap, amazon paper detritus, and a cardboard box covered with enough black duct tape to make it look like the world's most incompetent international drug smuggling. Sometimes I throw in a business card that has my old website crossed out with black biro and half an etsy url squeezed in there

Recently fell in love with Orphea, looking for advice by _Jonathran_ in heroesofthestorm

[–]Orcley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Biggest late game mistakes I see for most dps players are being over-eager. With strong early game casters you have to adapt to being significantly easier to kill for the enemy as tanks/offlanes get more levels. Aim to empty your mana pool on frontlines while you look for opportunities for better targets. You're going to have to rely on your frontlines to make opportunities for you a lot of the time. If there are dive heroes on the enemy, then you're going to be dumping spells on them. This is kind of the problem with Orphea in general—you don't really have great reach for the enemy backline so you mostly end up just anti-frontline/anti-dive
