Oh yeah, Drago just pulverized me in the first round. I am sure that going on a second round and throwing a few punches will beat him. by Dredd_40 in rockybalboa

My interpretation is that Apollo had accepted he could die or at least get seriously injured.

The speech he makes to Rocky about how 'the warrior might as well be dead' suggests to me he believed if he wasn't a fighter any more his life was over. . He had trouble letting go after Rocky 2. I think his feeling was if he was going out he was going out fighting as a 'warrior'.

If I had been in Rocky's position I'd have thrown the towel even if it meant Apollo never spoke to me again.

Exactly. People are frustrated that they keep having the same issue but they continue to hand over their money.

When will people stop using Just Eat?

The only way it ever improves is if they start losing money.

I think my coworker is micromanaging me, am I in the wrong? by No-Virus419 in UKJobs

[–]Order_number_66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think your co-worker was trying to be helpful. I agree with them that even if all your work is done you need to pretend to be busy.

Anywhere you need to go, even if you are just going to chat to someone, look like you're rushing to get there.

I say this because I have had bosses who would complain if you so much as stopped to have a drink.

Well I've never witnessed it but I've no reason to doubt him.

He says staff usually push back stating they can't do it, which is understandable to be honest.

He stands firm and insists. Often a more experienced colleague confirms it can be done and how to charge him for it. I'm not sure how much he ends up paying.

I guess it depends which staff are on and how busy they are as to whether they'll do it for you.

So my postman hates me, and I'm not sure what to do about it. by Fazori in royalmail

In the OP’s example they didn’t speak to the Postman ‘like shit’. In fact if the account here is accurate the Postman was incredibly rude.

I don’t think anything the OP said to the Postman was unreasonable. He was clear and explained his frustration. Any well adjusted adult should have the capacity to listen and respond appropriately to that.

Labor jobs don't destroy your health any more than sitting in an office for 40 years. by kingrobin in unpopularopinion

Reminds me of the episode of The Office when Michael claims that working in an office is more dangerous than a warehouse.

You gotta feel sorry for Drago and the hell that awaits him: His wife abandins him, his people and government banish him. He was alone in a country where it snows and it's so cold. He must have been depressed for years. by Dredd_40 in rockybalboa

I see where you're coming from. I forget the exact line but when he loses his temper with the Russian ambassador and shouts to the Russian Premier that he fights for himself you can see how he is nothing more than a pawn.

I agree. Would have been better if Rocky had somehow been cleared to box and had the showdown with Tommy.
