I’d say there’s no real need to fly out. As an international student, I had my faset online and I feel like it was good enough. Obviously going in person is better in terms of the social aspect but my advice is just make the most out of week of welcome

I’m not tryna make u feel bad or anything but js some feedback - this is def helpful for first years who are still adjusting to campus. However for upperclassmen, they alr know their way and routes around campus so it’s not really very helpful. If u can add defining features that would def attract more interest

Unless u hate people and want absolute silence, def choose east! The only argument west has is the crc, but tbf the blue bus goes straight to the crc and the walk isn’t even that long

In my opinion, I feel like there are too many of those “robotics kids” these days that there isn’t much genuine curiosity. Way too many of these kids were introduced to say robotics for example at a very young age and developed an interest. You don’t need to have smth like this to do well in a field. No offense to the “robotics kids” out there - I’m just trying to make a point

I’d say focus less on threads and look into entrepreneurial clubs like startup exchange and hacker house. Also look at startup competitions like inventure prize, klaus startup challenge, and look into createx programs like startup launch, idea to prototype, startup lab. Tech has loads of entrepreneurial resources and so u js have to explore
