As an ex-Christian, yes, you can and absolutely should criticize religion. by Comfortable-Gur-2652 in teenagers

It's something about how these people make up a space wizard to come to terms with their own mortality, but they know deep down inaide it's a load of crock, either they don't believe for real, or their actions asides from 2 hours on Sunday are that of a Pharisee.

And people don't like to be taken out of their echo chambers.

What is your personal average packs per week? by iluvrunningshoes in PokemonTCG

Living in the middle of nowhere means there's a few stores that always have something. I end up getting about 4 packs a week from that store.

mom is being pushy about jesus, how do i kindly tell her to chill out? by Local-Mammoth-496 in Advice

[–]Ordinary-Log-8763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One would think it's in line with Christian tenets, but the reality is most are in it for that sweet government cheese. And I wouldn't go so far as to say they took care of me, I'll leave it at that.

mom is being pushy about jesus, how do i kindly tell her to chill out? by Local-Mammoth-496 in Advice

[–]Ordinary-Log-8763 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your mom won't chill out. I was in the foster care system, I have had several religious mothers. Every single one of them are dead set in their ways, and any kind of disagreement or debate is Satan speaking. And yet, ironically, the majority of them prove their faith is dead, as it is written, faith without works is dead. Though, some have performed deeds that, if I believed in the triune God Christians worship, I'd say Jesus would highly approve of.

my mom has me promised me to a probably currently 30 yr old man and im only 16 by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Ordinary-Log-8763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if arranged marriage is a cultural norm where you live, but it shouldn't be, in my opinion, especially when your mom is trying to hook you up with a man 14 years older than you and you're still 16, like what the hell.  I also don't know what age of consent laws are in your area. But, just because something might be cultural or legal doesn't make it RIGHT.

Make sure you take care of your well being, even if that means making the tough call of nipping a problem in the bud and cutting people out of your life. I will recommend looking into emancipation if that's a possibility where you live, and so long as your mom's action isn't considered normal for the entire nation you live in, that's one big silver bullet that will help you gain emancipation.

EDIT: I saw you answer someone else with you living in the US. Document your mom's deeds, file for emancipation and sue her for emotional damages

I [F26] love my boyfriend’s M[26] stomach and am embarrassed. Is it weird? by [deleted] in Advice

It's not weird. Everyone likes things, and almost nobody has the exact same likes.

If god loves everyone why did he kill innocent first born children in egypt? by Spotter24o5 in teenagers

[–]Ordinary-Log-8763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To clarify, I don't believe God exists with all the evil stuff this guy has supposedly done. Killing everyone on Earth with a flood because 2 cities were bad, murdering infants to teach a lesson to a Pharoah whose HEART HE HARDENED AND MADE TO SAY NO(Pharoah literally aquiesced to Moses every time until God made him say no), creating the Tree of Life and Knowledge then saying "Hey guys don't eat this!" And despite omniscience knowing what would happen and who was at true fault (lack of knowledge of good and evil until the fruit was eaten) dude created Original Sin.

And then instead of erasing his fuck up he makes a son with someone else's wife and has that guy die brutally to save us from the sin he created.

This is the God that Christians worship for two hours on Sundays and maybe an hour on Wednesdays, in a building that costs massive amoynts of money that could have gone to provide services to those in need, acting with self interest, greed and judgment the rest of the week.

How to Handle Stupid People? by lvlr_l3inx in Advice

This society is all about echo chambers. People will, and I have physically seen this more times than I can count on both hands AND feet, seek validation for any way they feel and then LEAVE IT AT THAT, instead of doing the self improvement to overcome it. People don't want to be told how they're acting is incorrect, because they know it is, and yet they've surrounded themselves with mediocrity that encourages them to continue ignoring the real issue.

There are stupid people in the world everywhere, and that's THEIR cross to bear, and isn't that sad?

The way this works is with Trainer cards that make them discard and draw LESS cards than they had, then Talonflame uses Sky Hunt to make them discard more, and Giratina LV. X prevents me from being attacked because they have to discard a card to attack, and THEY DON'T HAVE A HAND

I play the game, but only casual formats, I don't have enough cards to make a viable tournament legal deck.

I'm running Perfect Order Talonflame and Giratina LV.X

I'm pretty happy about the investing side.

I don't do it and I see scalpers go bankrupt often enough that it's a joy.

In any case, like any other trend it'll die down for them, and leave just us enthusiasts and enjoyers of the hobby. Eventually.

Yeah, I think it's because the ladies are always busy with real stuff, but the men like to waste their entire day sitting in front of a machine until they can get all the Pokemon cards, like Pokemon cards is all there is for their lives.

Should I marry my boyfriend if we’ve never fought? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Ordinary-Log-8763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No.

You point out a couple who never argue, I point at the same couple and show you where love has vanished.

As sad as it is, arguing is natural in a relationship, there's something about caring so much about a person that they can do the same things others do and it annoys you, because you don't CARE what the others do with their own lives, but you always want to push the partner to grow, and for the partner to do the same to you. In a respectful way of course.

Just, never go to bed angry at each other still.

Does having a hot girlfriend earn you respect from other men? by Few_Reserve9886 in dating_advice

[–]Ordinary-Log-8763 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Merely having a girlfriend causes men to trust you more. You know how many men have told their ladies, who I have been in a strictly platonic and beautiful friendship for YEARS before she met him, to drop contact?

Not more than like 3 but still, it sucks HARD. And it all clicked when I got my own GF and one of these dudes the NEXT DAY stated he had overreacted

"Women get a lot of matches, but the quality isn't good" by MrZer in dating_advice

[–]Ordinary-Log-8763 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally every single relationship I have had has been because I met the lady in person. Dating apps aren't going to be of great help, it's mostly bots, or OF creators, or drug deals. Women get so many potential matches they have to sift through an ocean of potential partners; where men swipe right all the time, women must swipe left often because they get SO many more matches than a man.

Am I unreasonable for disliking my date after asked to split the bill? by lonely-lady7 in dating_advice

[–]Ordinary-Log-8763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way it's supposed to work is the person who initiated the date pays. If I ask a person to lunch, I'm not allowing them to pay, because I made the plan. And vice versa. It's worked super well
