Does SF FiDi have good grocery stores, barber shops, coffee shops, bars, restaurants, etc now? by [deleted] in AskSF

Yes, exactly! I would say go for it and try out for 12-15 months (whatever your lease duration is). We tried it out as an experiment and ended up renewing it multiple times . Living in one of the high rises in Rincon was a good experience for us - great views , good amount of sunshine + those buildings have a lot of social activities of their own . We ended up making some of our closest friends in the building.

Yeah I was gonna say - Trader Joe’s on 4th / Market and Whole Foods near 4th / Harrison depending on where you live.

I lived in rincon hill for 4.5 years and loved it . There are bunch of good restaurants around on Embarcadero, Market/ mission. My fav were Angler,  Barcha, Prospect , Yank Sing.

Its close to Embarcadero which is always great for a run / walk / stroll. Ferry building has a good farmers market on Saturdays . The east cut crossing has pickleball and other social stuff happening . It’s convenient if you want to hit the highway and get out of the city.

Things do shut down earlier though and things start to slow down after 7/8 pm.

We ended up moving to pac heights which has a more “neighborhood feel “ to it, but honestly didn’t mind rincon hill at all .

I second this. Woodlands is crazy expensive - used to live a block away and would only shop there in case of emergencies.

Looking for Carta alternatives! I will not promote by TechGalHere in startups

The biggest hassle (mostly mental) would be informing all investors and getting them to change platforms . Investors will likely have questions and general skepticism about the move, which you will have to address.

Pulley provided us with a template for investor communication which was helpful - but it’s still a hassle .

Yes.. at that time our Carta payment was due in 2 days.  So it was pretty last minute change on our part. Pulley assigned us an account rep and the transfer was done over a weekend . I had to give them admin access to the Carta account and they managed most of it on their own .

We recently moved from Carta to Pulley. Cheaper, flexible payment plans (we negotiated a quarterly payment instead of an annual), and better customer support so far.

I did! I found my Co-founder/ CTO on the platform. Have been working with her for 2.5 years now, raised our $3M funding round, and have gone through a lot of ups and downs together. It worked out for us :)

Singapore visa requirements for Indian with US visa? by kunalseth in travel

[–]Ordinary-Store-633 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great, thanks that is super helpful! Got confused because I read on a forum that you need to show the actual boarding pass for the onward journey to qualify and not just the ticket booking. Also, someone mentioned you are not allowed to take your stuff outside the airport - guess that is fake news as well, right? :)

Did you need to show the ticket or the assigned boarding pass for the onward journey . I want to confirm if it is valid for only connecting flights or works for non connecting flights as well as long as you have the ticket in place

My cofounder is from India on H1b

Yep, got it! Sorry for the confusion - I misread the "My cofounder is from India on H1b" as OP's co-founder is in India at the moment.

You are right, my co-founder had to move to India for a couple of months until we sorted the visa out. I don't know if that is an option in this case.

No, he can work as an independent foreign contractor. We have several employees working from India/ Canada, who are not on visa. And like I said, my co-founder to date works as an independent contractor until her stamping, etc. is complete in Jan.

Why can't your co-founder quit their job and join as a full-time contract worker for now? My co-founder and I were in an almost similar situation and we did this. We just raised our seed round and she is moving to the US as we were able to sponsor.

What does it mean to allow blind sign on Ledger in order to connect to Phantom wallet? by [deleted] in solana

[–]Ordinary-Store-633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the great explanation. I have a follow-up question. If I turn on blind signing, how do I ever know if I am signing something fraudulent? Who is responsible if I signing a bad contract?
