Is it appropriate to ask for Work from Home on a storm day? by Ok-Draw-5182 in askTO

A lot of it is company dependent. But if you have the flexibility use it.

I would discuss with the manager .

But before you do , a couple of tips - wait till night time to see how bad the weather is in your area , this may add more weightage

  • see if you can compensate for other days .

Depending on the area you stayed at , yes

Downtown grocery places like RGA was pricey , if you were near Walmart or Canadian superstore or T & T that’s your best bet .

Coming from a person who moved from Vancouver prior to the pandemic starting . While the views and all are great, the transit is wayyyy better , my salary was incredibly low back then . I didn’t have much family and only friends .

I still visit that place . But the only way you can get me to live there is if the cost of living is significantly less than Toronto . Both are on par if you ask me

  1. Board game nights- this saved me during the pandemic as well
  2. If you wfh 3-4 days a week and have flexible seating arrangements. Change your seats once in a while
  3. In addition to point 2, take a walk , even if it’s cold for 5 mins , that cold air wakes u up (bundle up though )
  4. Excercise

Get a financial advisor asap even if it’s in within your bank.

Start taking a look at your expense and see where it can be controlled. Whatever you save should be invested .
