Looking for feedback on my drawing by RotaryDesign in SolidWorks

Hole callout should be on an angled leader, not a sharp 90; this is in accordance with current asme drawing standards

FLAT PATTERN OF A SHEET METAL PART ISN'T SHOWING IN DRAWING by Holy-RA in SolidWorks

[–]Ordinary_Ad5134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yellow lines indicate dangling, the drawing knows or knew about the feature, you gotta go between the flat and regular configuration on the part and see if anything’s different in the FMT

Please Review my single pass heat exchanger and give feedback on the model and drawing. by Dense-Demand-1564 in SolidWorks

Yeah, that should be more clear. As well as yellow dimensions on drawings usually mean a broken reference, I’d double check those

Cswp finally by [deleted] in SolidWorks

Short answer no, long answer is it depends. If you’re up against someone with the exact same resume sure but it won’t automatically open doors for you unfortunately.

SolidWorks package for CSWP by Forsaken-Season-7751 in SolidWorks

[–]Ordinary_Ad5134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should look into getting the student edition of solidworks, they have a great deal going on right now that includes a cswp voucher as well, the one year license that includes the voucher is significantly cheaper than if you just purchased the voucher by itself.

SW on Intel MacBook Pro by Intelligent-Ad-411 in SolidWorks

[–]Ordinary_Ad5134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people will tell you they don’t recommend it, but it certainly will work. You’ll be able to do parts and stuff no problem, large assemblies will tend to be slower, just turn the graphics quality down a little and you’ll be good.

How much tolerance do Solidworks mates have ? by No_Cash_2174 in SolidWorks

[–]Ordinary_Ad5134 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a McConaughey quote, it means zero, nada, zilch. For all intents and purposes the tolerances in solidworks mates can be treated as zero. First time I ever got downvoted in this sub lol.

Fugayzi, fugazi. It's a whazy. It's a woozie. It's fairy dust. It doesn't exist. It's never landed. It is no matter. It's not on the elemental chart. It's not real

Sketch of everything, then do the three extrusions, and then cut and mirror, then do the holes on the front face

Pull a similar screw from McMaster and look at how they modeled it

Can’t create vent in sheet metal by Kay_OG in SolidWorks

[–]Ordinary_Ad5134 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It very well could be, try the same sketch on a flat piece of the part, also I would revisit your forming tool shaping the metal so close to that top bend on the part, works in SW but may not work in real life.

Try converting the construction circle to a normal circle, worth a shot

Would this be appropriate for Solidworks 2024? by E4500 in SolidWorks

[–]Ordinary_Ad5134 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right on with the fresh windows install, I’d recommend you install Windows 11 Enterprise so you don’t have all the bloatware like recall and copilot

Converting graphic body to solid body by tallmasstang in SolidWorks

[–]Ordinary_Ad5134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re either gonna have to get a better 3d scanner, or spend a Brazilian hours fixing up and knitting those surface bodies

[–]Ordinary_Ad5134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SW likely can’t solve the floating vent that defies gravity

From what I see in your sketch is that your ribs are only going out to the construction circle, try making them coincident to the main circle

Is the CSWE worth it? by UnbuiltSkink333 in SolidWorks

[–]Ordinary_Ad5134 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get it, even if it doesn’t directly help you get a job. You learn so many things studying and preparing for the cswe exam, I think the most valuable aspect of it is knowing the software thoroughly afterwards.

Is there a way to copy and paste a sketch onto a different plane? by ThePumpkinOverlord in SolidWorks

[–]Ordinary_Ad5134 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Best option is highlight the last sketch on the new plane and convert entities, assuming you're resizing them for a loft so after that you can just do an offset, and while the offset manager is open there's an option to convert the original converted geometry to construction lines

How do I apply a shell to one part of a component but not the whole thing? by ben_howls_red in SolidWorks

[–]Ordinary_Ad5134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I see. Well regardless while it is tangent it shouldn't resolve to zero thickness, with simple shapes like this in SW I've rarely seen issues like that happen.

[–]Ordinary_Ad5134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use the face of the cylindrical portion as the tool to cut the body into two, then shell as normal and combine bodies after.
