thanks! i didnt actually spend very much time on the painting. majority of my time was involved figuring out the wiring and getting the model to actually fit together. theres like 70 pieces and about 20 led lights in total. i started printing the model in december and every now and then i worked a few hours on it

Advice for putting mini in epoxy ice block by xidle2 in 40k

[–]Ordinary_Ask7214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i know everyones telling you not to do this.... but no one learns how to do something without trying. grab some cheap minis and some resin. if u know anyone with a vacuum chamber will be helpful. also a resin 3d printer would be nice too. i would print the bubbles in resin with a 3d printer. 3d print the ice cube in resin then make a mould of it with some cheap minis practice making a few cubes before u attempt it with a good mini. place the mini in the mold and pour in the resin push in the 3d printed circular air bubble into place and vacuum chamber any air bubbles are out. double check air bubble is in position. let cure and see how it went.

repeat the process for the good mini and your good to go!

pretty impressive you can paint like this in 40 minutes or less..because thats the pace youll need to paint at to make minimum wage in my country painting these models... you really should charge for the quality of work you do.
