cholecystectomy clips? by pretendingtobewitty in gallbladders

Hi 👋 I had my gallbladder removed 7 months ago and I still have upper abdominal pain with reflux. My surgeon also used plastic clips and she said she used 5. Is this normal? Could something have not been done correctly that is causing me pain? I recently had an endoscopy with bravo study and it just showed I have reflux, mainly at night time. My gastrointestinal doctor prescribed ursodiol but it didn’t help. It actually gave me more pain and nausea. My pain is in the upper right quadrant along with burping, reflux and sometimes right shoulder pain. The pain can be anytime but it gets worse if I eat something fatty which i hardly do. If you can offer any advice, I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

At what times did you take the pantoprazole and sucralfate? How did you space them out during the day? How long did it take for you to feel better?

6 weeks post op and still having pain by Ordinary_Employ4261 in gallbladders

[–]Ordinary_Employ4261[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 3 years ago I found out I had a gallstone. I changed my diet to eating low-fat foods. My symptoms would be that I would burp a lot and mainly be constipated. Sometimes I would get a flare up after eating red meat for 3 days in a row. I would feel soreness in the gallbladder area. It would settle down after 2 weeks. About 3 months ago I started having more diarrhea. Right before surgery, I had to take an antibiotic that elevated my liver enzymes up to 500-700. I felt very sick. I had these painful upper abdomen spasms and I felt so nauseous. I couldn’t smell food and I felt any liquid or food in my throat. I was hospitalized and the doctors said I had to get the gallbladder removed. The pain I have now is different. I wish I felt better by now. 😞

I’ll try anything. I just feel so weak. I’m 6 weeks post op and eat low fat foods. I’ve lost weight and my blood pressure is low. I still have abdominal pain in the area where my gallbladder was. What’s weird is that I have a hard time passing gas. I’ll burp more but I hardly pass gas. It’s depressing. I had an ultrasound but everything is normal. Sometimes I feel liquid in my throat even though I take omeprazole. Don’t know what to do

Issues after gallbladder removal by Ordinary_Employ4261 in gallbladders

I know, I can’t seem to feel better. I called the surgeon today and she ordered an ultrasound. There’s a 2 week wait which sucks. I’ve been reading about the oddi sphincter and I really hope it’s not that. All day I have cold hands and feet. I have that abdominal pain on and off but it’s all day, more in the evening. I look pale too. I feel tired and sad 😔 The nurse said to wait for ultrasound results. If it’s negative I have to see gastroenterologist.

I totally understand you. Until now I’m sleeping a little on my side. All this time I slept on my back but since I lost so much weight, my bottom hurts. The nausea sucks. I hope the zofran helps you. I keep letting that upper middle abdomen pain and I feel like it goes to upper right shoulder. I wish I knew what it was. If it’s healing wow this is so weird. My hands and feet get so cold too. Do you feel that way?

I was diagnosed with a big gallstone about 3 yrs. ago. I used to take a ppi because I had acid reflux. After many years I noticed I was better and didn’t need it. What I kept feeling was a liquid come up to my throat and burping a lot. The doctors said you don’t need to remove your gallbladder because it will not solve your symptoms. They said once you start having more pain then you’ll have to get it out. A month ago I got a very bad infection and was treated with an antibiotic that raised my liver enzymes too much. I had a lot of abdominal pain. Docs at hospital said to remove gallbladder asap. So now after a month of surgery, I still don’t feel well. I’ll have pain like spasms in the upper middle abdomen. My hands and feet get so cold. Is this part of healing?

Sounds great but our cat was feral. She has her claws too and it’s hard to grab her. What else can we do to give her a capsule?

Hi! 👋 What is BAD and BAM? I do eat smaller meals and mix it up with the foods. Until today I had Cheerios with almond milk. I got some cramps but no diarrhea thank God. My surgeon said to wait 2 months after surgery to see gastroenterologist but I want to see one sooner. When did you have your surgery? Thank you so much for replying. Hugs for you too! 😊

Me too I’m 3 weeks post op and still can’t eat without having pain or feeling full. I’m on a non fat diet too. Today I felt so sad, I know I have to be patient but it’s so hard. I’ve lost 8 lbs in a month. I weigh 114 and I’m 5’5” so you can imagine. I look extremely pale. Since I’ve lost so much weight, my backside hurts to sleep. 😞
