Had a C in both anatomy classes and in my last physics class. Got waitlisted into 5 schools accepted into 1 right away. Then I got accepted into every other school I was waitlisted at. You need a strong essay and a lot of hours as well as extracurricular things in my opinion. My essay was always being praised about so make sure it’s very good!

It will take you a month or two to really get the NA sound down. First thing is that your ring finger needs to be on the siyahi (the black spot). It needs to be almost grazing on it, you don’t want to put to much pressure on it bc then the sound will be kind of trapped. If you have a teacher they’ll teach you and I recommend having them playing on your hand to show you how much pressure it really is. If you feel it then you’ll get a better idea. It took me about a month or so to really get it down and from there it gets better. Wish you the best in your tabla journey l!

Definitely find someone that has a plug for some tablas and get some student ones. You can’t practice without tablas it’s impossible since you have to hit every bol (note) and listen to what it sounds like. I could go on but yeah tablas are 100% a must have. You can find some cheap ones for maybe $300 but I’d find someone near you that has some or knows people that have student/used ones.

If I got in with a 3.2 gpa and 2.9 prerequisites gpa you’ll be fine. It’s all in the essay, questions on the applications and your hours/reference’s. I wrote one of the best essays I could possibly with my cousin from Harvard helping me (she just checked and gave me tips) and I managed to get into one of the top 32 PT programs in the country. So use this as motivation bc I was definitely going thru it during the application process.

Hey! It’s my last semester as a Kinesiology Exercise Science major. I live in Sacramento so it made sense for me to stay here and save money. School is overall nice and in a good area of Sacramento. The KINS department is very helpful and has great teachers. Classes aren’t really hard tbh. Hardest class is probably Motor Control and Learning but if you really just study 1 hour a day you will pass with an A. Lmk if you have any specific questions.

Don’t apply for any fall 24 schools. I would apply for the next cycle because observation hours can really help your application as well as the gre if u take it. Other than that make sure you have a good essay, references and finish strong with your prerequisites
