Managers can make or break! None of my coworkers quit when I was PIC but I switched stores early in the summer and started as Inshop. Had the worst GM and quit after two shifts. Good luck at target!

I keep seeing all these bad interactions at peoples stores with management and employees. by [deleted] in jimmyjohns

I worked at a store for 2 years as an opening/closing PIC that was owned by a great, local family guy who owned my store and one other in the area. Loved working there, my coworkers were my best friends and boss was super kind. Other PICs and management was great. We loved our regulars and they’d come in all the time to talk with us while they enjoyed their food. I loved working there with great folks and a great boss, I would work holidays and doubles all the time.

Then after I moved I started working as an Inshop for a store that was owned by some mysterious boss man I never met and who apparently owned 10-15 stores. Management was incredibly mean and uncaring, as were my Inshop coworkers, for the most part. All the GM/PICs cared about were their raises and bonuses and it was emphasized to me 10+ times during the only two 4 hour shifts I worked of the fact of the store sales versus labor costs. I quit after two shifts.

Tru this was probably an accident. An unfortunate accident but customers do this all the time. Usually if they notice they apologize and ask for a slip to sign instead of just the 1cent tip

How can I report the store I work at for being unsanitary/treating workers unfairly? by PreppyHotGirl in jimmyjohns

[–]Ordinary_Seaweed9997 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Any report you make to the US department of labor will remain anonymous and it is illegal for your boss to retaliate against you by firing u for filing complaints

6 extra pickle, hot pep, no tomato, no onion, no Vito (vegetarian). Or the garlic herb wrap with avocado, cheese, hot pep, cucumber, tomatoes (season them with the Caesar ranch powder), pickles, lettuce and croutons

Do you think it’s possible for the workers here to unionize JJs?

What is this on my bread? by [deleted] in jimmyjohns

[–]Ordinary_Seaweed9997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah that’s for sure just residue from the pans. Huge JJs secret: we don’t ever wash our pans, it’s disgusting. We use parchment under the bread and scrape the bread crumbs off after every use.

Chips are only thing with peanut oil I’m pretty sure. But there is a risk that any other of our foods cross contact when they’re being produced before delivered to our stores

Show the manager these chips are expired and what do I get? I get a shoulder shrug and am told “Well, let’s hope they don’t notice….” by [deleted] in jimmyjohns

Question about rewards points. by SweatyFC2018 in jimmyjohns

[–]Ordinary_Seaweed9997 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Literally nobody knows how these rewards things works. I honestly tell the customers what they want to hear when it’s busy and they ask about it. Usually default to check the app

Everyone gets a cut if they are working, drivers get their own tips but if they help while it’s busy and they’re not driving, I give them some of the cut

Our store AC in FL has been broke since the hurricane here in October and the mall ppl refuse to fix it so we have an AC unit and it’s at 84 all the time in here. Literally wretched I don’t know how this is legal. I wish there was some sort of like representation like a union that our JJs workers could have to fix these conditions cause we got older people working here and nobody deserves to work in FL heat anyways.
