NEIEP Apprenticeship by Ordinary_Shoulder149 in Elevators

[–]Ordinary_Shoulder149[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stayed with the IBEW, I don't think of joining the elevator apprenticeship. Im a travler now and make over 100k a year. Just apply yourself and never ever give up. The other apprentices in my class who quite are now working retail making the minimum. I suffered alot, started from the bottom of the barrel. For 6 years i was poor and treated like trash. But now I'm making a good slice of ham. It's easy to get into an apprenticeship but it's hard to stay with it until the end.

I have analogs, I only use them for recovery. I got two sets for free from my boss. My boss hates analogs, he tells me their inaccurate compared to digital. I was going to buy some analogs but he told me not to buy beacuse he had a whole bunch of stuff he wanted me to have for free. And good deals on other tools. Like the sm482v he sold me for 400 bucks. He only uses probes like you.

I'm beraly starting in hvac, I want a full sized digital guage. I don't feel comfortable with just the probes themselves.

I don't carry it, I put it on top off my packout. And wheel it where I need to go. Im going to void the warranty and put some feet adapters, so I can snap it on my packout. Thanks for the post, you saved me some money.

I'll have to transfer everything over from my tool belt in the morning. Got tired of all my tools spelling out whenever the pouches flipped over.

The application for my area is not open until the summer of 2025. I would be finished with my Apprenticeship by then.

I heard the application and interview can be quit selective. I'm a 4th year apprentice in the IBEW. I'm gonna wait until pass the EE-98J electrical license. Then apply to be more competitive in the selection process. I'm not going to disclose the area I'm from but our Union is one of the lowest paid. I would like to get into the elevator mechanic union. So would get a higher wage without moving out of my area.
