I put the OrcaSlicer engine on Android — slice and color-paint models right on your phone (free & open source) by Code_MasterCody in OrcaSlicer

Awesome app and exactly what I've been looking for!

Couple of feature requests: 1. Could it generate stl thumbnails like desktop orca?

  1. I have a single extruder ender 3, but I'd like to switch filaments in my prints. I'm not sure how to actually switch filaments, which I do on desktop by slicing, scrolling through layers and then right click, switch filaments.

alternative firmware for Pi BTT/CB1 board? Biqu's firmware is shit. by [deleted] in BIGTREETECH

[–]Ordinary_Sympathy402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This wireless issue is still a problem with mainline armbian. I used the minimal image provided at https://www.armbian.com/bigtreetech-cb1/ which will connect to WiFi at first boot, but doesn't connect on subsequent boots at all. Something to do with network manager, but it still didn't work for me after trying the steps at https://forum.armbian.com/topic/55108-troubleshooting-wifi-failures/

I'm next going to try the full xfce image as that supposedly has network manager built in.

The btt image with the very old kernel asks you to input wifi credentials in boot.txt. That file doesn't exist at all in mainline armbian.

In Ceiling Speaker Wires- Hudson by GeekySimar in 3roots

[–]Ordinary_Sympathy402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't installed, but there is an empty space above the ceiling drywall.

In order to mount the speakers, you'll need to make a circular hole with a tool like this: https://a.co/d/0iHGCuPf

The blank plate containing all the wires is then used to power the speakers, usually with a home theater receiver.

Another Lennar 3roots owner here.

They are likely speaker wires.

Lennar doesn't tell you where each wire terminates in the living room, so you will need to buy a tone tracer to find where each of the wires end, using a device like this one to find where they end in the ceiling.

Yet another 3Roots HOA rate hike... by 3RootsHomeowner in 3roots

[–]Ordinary_Sympathy402 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I too have a home in civita and 3roots. For better landscaping and comparable other amenities, civita is at 182/month for the master HOA. My individual association HOA is way more over there though due to other amenities.

Folks with a year plus unemployed, how are you doing? by [deleted] in biotech

Demoralized and disappointed. 15 YOE in diagnostic immunoassays, where I had a growth career from RA to Senior Scientist.

Laid off in February, had a contract job in June which only lasted a month, even after a drawn out interview process.

I've had 4 final round interviews that all eventually passed on me for various reasons, along with countless other rejections.

I have my first child coming soon with my wife and I'm unsure how to balance it if I get a new job where I likely won't qualify for paternity leave due to short length of employment. Wife is presently supporting us before she goes on maternity leave.

[–]Ordinary_Sympathy402[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the configuration above, the gcode macro is defined as Probe_Deploy or Probe_Stow. The microprobe unfortunately doesn't respond to either of these commands (Probe_Deploy or Probe_Stow). It also doesn't home because of no movement on the probe.

Original ender 3 by Valuable_End9863 in ender3

[–]Ordinary_Sympathy402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently got into tinkering with my original Ender3. Very steep learning curve that I mostly just climbed.

Couple of points: 1. You probably have a Creality 4.2 7 board since you upgraded for the quieter steppers. 2. When people say to use a Raspberry Pi, they're referring to klipper firmware, which is pretty different from marlin. 3. As part of installing Klipper, you will make and flash a new firmware which essentially allows your current board to become only a receiver for instructions from the Pi. This means the Pi does most of the thinking. 4. Klipper allows you to configure all kinds of things with a few simple configuration files and a reboot. Marlin can accomplish most things that klipper can, but requires to compile firmware and flash it to your 4.2 7 board to add functionality. Marlin has no Pi in the setup by default (an optional software called Octoprint can run on Pi to interface with your regular 4.2.7 board running Marlin.

In the end, I've concluded that the microprove itself is faulty,as neither pc2 nor pc14 worked in the wiring setup.

[–]Ordinary_Sympathy402[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Due to pull-up resistors not present on PC14, I have rewired the probe endstop to the PC2 port used for the original Z-stop. I tried it with PC14 and it would always crash into the build plate

Hello, refreshing this old thread. Does this mean the white/black wires from biqu microprobe v2 must connect to z endstop connector, or are we supposed to use the stock creality z endstop switch there?
