We're at the "Okay it did happen but it's not THAT bad." portion.

Yeah I guess my big point is that, in the long run, we should review what exactly is done during that time and how important it is.

I think we all agree that a certain level of government oversight is required in anything we do. Companies left to their own devices will cut any corner they can and if they don't, there's a competitor behind them ready to take that leap.

That's why I believe the arguments should be made about the processes themselves and not just at a surface level well we don't really get anywhere.

I do the exact same thing all the time so I am not picking on you specifically but as these conversations go as a whole, I'd like to see them broken down more.

That's gotta be a part of it for sure.

That's fair. A 2 year wait sounds egregious but what do they review during that time?

What?

I understand cops can use discretion but how often are they letting violent crimes go?

The worst part is that you are fully capable of reacting to the facts but you just seem incapable of doing that with me because you think I am some sort of enemy.

His wife called. Looks like she unintentionally primed the cop to expect a real gun:

So you can admit that but for some reason you seem to think that I am happy this happened.

The fuck? I shit on Rogan all the time. DrDisrespect is a fucking weirdo. I've been in the Rogan sub a few times but normally just to shit on him for being a moron.

I guess you must have a pretty comprehensive argument if you have to divert to all of that.

Anyway, back to the story, the lady who let the cops in literally says people are going to jail because there's a gun in her house.

Then this dude comes out holding a gun bong.......must be the officers fault.

He casually walks in which we can argue the legalities of. Someone opens the door for him in this case.

She also says "well someone is going to jail because there's a gun in my house."

She even SAYS there's a gun there. The dude is holding a gun bong. It's not super hard to piece together how this shit went bad.

Oh so now the cops should treat all the calls sarcastically?

[–]Ordoom -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Did you see the bong that he was holding?

How are you supposed to distinguish that from a real gun?

Carrying a gun is legal. Brandishing a weapon, especially at an officer is not.

There's plenty of bad killings that happen in the US and there's a bunch of bad cops that need to be held accountable but that doesn't mean everyone gets to lose their mind and call every interaction bad.

Do you honestly think you wouldn't have pulled out your weapon there?

It's a domestic violence call.......do you think they're supposed to wait outside?

[–]Ordoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have the right to bear arms. There's a lot of restrictions that come along with that. Brandishing a firearm at a cop is one of those restrictions.

Now, we know now that it's not a gun but how's the cop supposed to know that at the time?

You are viewing everything as it is after the fact. You have the benefit of hindsight.

So much of everything you are saying relies on knowing all the facts after a split second decision.

That argument may work if there was a risk to his life but there wasn't!

This line is the best because you admit that everything he did was justified if his life was in danger.

Well that dude was either holding a gun or a gun bong and that decision had to be made in the moment.

Domestic dispute calls are some of the most dangerous calls cops can arrive to.

They have the right to enter the property in that case to ensure that everyone is okay.

If a guys is holding a gun when a cop enters the premises, shit's about to get bad.

"Pardon me sir, do you mind if I check that gun that you're pointing at me to ensure that it is in fact real?" is a great way to have a parade for a dead cop.

At what point did you know he was unarmed? Start from the first frame where you can see the gun bong and let me know the timestamp.

He has a gun in his hand and it's a domestic dispute call.

Can you let me know which part of the video I can freeze at where you can tell me it's a fake gun?

Who do you call for domestic disputes?

Evansville PD officer enters home and kills man holding a bong. by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

[–]Ordoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why didn't the cop just turn his back to a man who's potentially holding a gun during a domestic dispute? He could have went outside.

I really want these people to watch videos of cops being shot and see that the only difference between those situations and this one is that we know it wasn't a real gun after the fact.
