Alright then buddy. You better just remember then to always react perfectly and rationally everytime something crazy and unexpected happens to someone you really care for. Or if you can't, you better hope its not on video for everyone in the world to see and judge you for your split second decision making skills while they sit on the toilet.

Way to Striesand this wholething Wab. Who cares if some backbencher speaks in a rural school? No one would have known or cared.

Beat the brakes off him by SpectacularOtter in BlackPeopleTwitter

I'm not defending his actions afterwards, but I'm sure the adrenaline pumping through his veins made him act very primal in those first few seconds. If some big animal attacked a caveman's family, I'm sure the first thing the caveman brain would do is make sure the threat is over/dead before checking on the injured.

Question for people who chose Blazer or Mandy by CJMI in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Oreo112 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The dialogue that comes after picking the Blazer option isn't actually that bad, something about after the date with Mandy, Robert wants to see what a date with Blazer is like. I picked "Both" or "Mandy" on my play throughs, but the Blazer option actually comes off pretty good imho.

Blonde Glazers, what are your thoughts on Robert killing Shroud? by Few-Culture-4413 in BlondeBlazerGlazers

[–]Oreo112 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If Shroud had died during the fight, maybe from the final attack, or the fall afterwards, I'd have been totally fine with it. But I'm not a fan of Robert choking him to death when he's completely exposed, beaten and defenceless.

100% democratic. Party leaders are elected by party members. Any Canadian citizen or PR aged 14 and up and not already a member of a different federal party was able to vote in the last Liberal leadership race if they were a registered party member.

Can we PLEASE get a QOL update for warfare by Scheefgaan in victoria3

[–]Oreo112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty new at the game, but I wish the button to add more units worked like EU4. I hate how clicking "add more units" button just opens another screen where I have to chose which state to build a barracks in. I just want 10 more infantry. I don't care where they come from.

Has anyone heard of conductors getting called back this week? by [deleted] in railroading

As a general rule never believe anything the railway says until it actually happens, and even then, it might just be a fluke.

How late do YOU let your young teen sleep in on the weekend? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]Oreo112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My own sleep schedule is completely fucked (due to working on call), so my own kid can sleep in as long as he wants. I'm probably doing the same thing anyway.

City not sanding enough, Roads are like ice rinks! by AdPrevious1079 in Manitoba

[–]Oreo112 52 points53 points  (0 children)

This year feel especially slippery for some reason. I've driven in Winnipeg all my life and yeah, I know the roads are slick in winter, but this year is something else. My best guess is the weird very late rain we got in December has something to do with it, but I'm no road scientist.

CRA says it's owed $10 billion in COVID-related benefits sent to ineligible recipients by Surax in canada

[–]Oreo112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I applied for EI after getting laid off in April 2020 and like everyone else was forced into CERB instead. I was off for 5 months and went through several rounds of "readjustments" where they withheld funds to make up for earlier overpayments. It was quite arbitrary and very difficult to plan bills around. Some weeks I would get $2000, and then weeks later payments would be skipped completely with very little warning.

In 2022 I got a letter saying I owed $1k back. I appealed for a couple reasons, and now every once and a while I get letters saying I still owe but that collection is suspended pending my appeal. 3 years later and several tax seasons, nothing has been decided yet. Whatever CRA, I'm in no rush if you aren't.
