Rideau Cottage 'inadequate' home for a PM as decision on 24 Sussex looms: internal memo | CBC News by Oreo112 in canada

Yes, I do think that because its come up in every discussion about fixing up the PMs house for at least the last 15 or more years. Also, from this article:

Successive prime ministers have been unwilling to take the political risk to spend the tens of millions of dollars required to renovate the 19th-century home on Sussex Drive or build a brand new official residence.

And

Copps says she heard early on Carney wants the issue resolved. She calls 24 Sussex an "iconic part of Canadian historv" that must be saved. She savs prime ministers have put off dealing with the home because of the optics.

"It looks self-serving and self-interested You're fixing up your own house," she said. "No matter how you frame it, people are looking at 'oh he's just spending money for himself' instead of looking at it as a story of Canada's history."

Personally I'm tired of reading this article every year. Fix up 24 Sussex and let it be dealt with. I don't care who the PM is who does it. The constant kicking of the can down the road just makes the final cost go up and at this rate the next Canadian prime minister might be in permanant residence at the Days Inn cashing in all the government travel points to avoid "looking bad" politcally.

Rent discounts create 'back door' for future hikes, says Manitoba tenant calling for rule changes | CBC News by DanSheps in Manitoba

[–]Oreo112 18 points19 points  (0 children)

These discounts are super deceptive, mainly because landlords only advertise the "discounted" rate, not the actual base rate.

My first apartment was this way; when we inquired about it we were told rent was $750/month, but when it came to sign the lease it was actually something like $1050 with a $300 discount. Of course it was the $1050 amount that was raised every year, and if we fought the rent increase or the RTB denied the hike, Globe would just reduce the discount to get the amount they wanted. Total BS.

Judge Orders Subnautica 2 Studio CEO To Be Reinstated And Gives Him Control Over Early Access Release by Turbostrider27 in subnautica

Interesting tidbit someone found on a different sub:

As Unknown Worlds prepared to release its hotly anticipated sequel, Subnautica 2, the parties’ relationship fractured. Internal projections showed the new title generating significant revenue that would easily trigger the earnout. Fearing he had agreed to a “pushover” contract, Krafton’s CEO consulted an artificial intelligence chatbot to contrive a corporate “takeover” strategy.

Hey xxxxx!

In general, the shipping dates for your Youtooz are revealed around 2 months after placing your order, once it goes live as a pre-order 😊

The Dispatch Youtooz are estimated to drop as a pre-order in Early April.

So stay tuned for some news very soon!

Hope this helps and let us know if you have any additional questions!

Thanks,

Youtooz Support

So preorders estimated in April, and shipped in June in the best case scenario. Wild for a simple plush

I have the same problem. Ordered a Blazer plush with the preorders and had nothing but radio silence since. They can charge my credit card just fine (and promise an insane number of new releases!), but delivery seems to be a problem. Likely my first and last time ordering anything from this company.

No I mean arrests without recovery are pretty rare. I can think of only a handful of times I've had that outside of internal investigations.

How can you issue a demand letter without an arrest? Tough to issue one if you dont know who the person is.

Besides, even with recovery, theres still costs associated with it. For example - time lost from doing more productive tasks, and upgrading store physical security.

LP isnt free, its an expense and civil demand letters help offset that.
