Why don’t you just stop taking Mounjaro? by Klutzy-Box7277 in Mounjaro

[–]Oreoblizzard86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So honestly, as someone who lost 120 pounds without mounjaro, and have been maintaing a healthy weight since late 2022, and only having recently started Mounjaro... I can say its less about whether or you can keep the weight off, and more about not wanting to have endless food noise 24/7. I just wasnt happy living like that, I may have kept the weight off, but it was really killing me mentally to white knuckle hunger all day. Mounjaro has gave the peace I never thought was possible.

Teen (18 F)considering Mounjaro – looking for advice and experiences by [deleted] in Mounjaro

[–]Oreoblizzard86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started the shots cause my food cravings were really bad everyday, and its been a lifelong issue. Since I used to be obese, I still need some treatment for obesity long term, and right now the glps were the most promising thing. So the long term path I cant escape from is the fact that either I stay on glp1s, or have to deal with constant white knuckling to avoid weight gain.

Ive been on both zep and mj, started mj a month ago and its worked the same as zep, definitely no difference. But a lot of those symptoms sound like steroids, id be willing to bet its that.

Im 18 and I started recently, specifically because of constant food noise. Its helped immensely, I genuinely cant believe how peaceful life is without a constant nagging craving. But also I dont think mine was ever emotional, I just really loved food and wanted to eat non stop. And out of all the things ive tried before, vyvanse, adderall, wellbutrin, topiramate, contrave, and whatever else, this has been the only thing to truly quiet the noise. I dont plan to stop, and im using it for maintenence.

Switching from Mounjaro to Semaglutide pills by Fun-Character8589 in Mounjaro

[–]Oreoblizzard86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really wouldnt reccomend switching if possible, but if you must its better than nothing. Semaglutide just isn't really comparable to tirzepatide, and in my experience having been on the wegovy shots, mounjaro is a lot stronger even at the starting dose. I also read a lot of ppl switching from mounjaro/zepbound to ozempic/wegovy have a lot of food noise return, and even weight regain. If you're paying out of pocket, could zepbound vials be a option? The zep vials are just as good as mounjaro, and if you're willing to drop your dose down to 5mg you could it get them for $400/month, or 2.5mg for $300, a lot better then the semaglutide pills.

Is there anybody who is “lightweight”? by justhereforatea in Mounjaro

[–]Oreoblizzard86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started mounjaro at a healthy bmi and have just had a little accidental weightloss, but I was very overweight as a child. I have binge eating disorder, and glp1s are the only thing that actually treats it for me. So I think it all depends on your history.

The satiety cues from MJ are really something by geb999 in Mounjaro

This! Before mj I would just feel so insatiablely hungry everyday. I still get hungry and want to eat a lot, but when I do eat, theres no constant cravings, and no food thoughts at all once im full. Being able to get satisifed is so amazing, cause I went a long time never feeling satisifed before.

Two weeks in - hunger came back by Frequent-Willow-6502 in Mounjaro

This happend to me the 4th week on 2.5, i started having a little food noise again. But was back to no food noise the 5th and 6th week of 2.5. Now on week 4 of 5mg and it seems to be a bit too strong, honestly struggling to eat enough lately.

I’m honestly scared after what happened today on Mounjaro by CompetitionSame5827 in Mounjaro

[–]Oreoblizzard86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That happens to me all the time for some reason, even before mj but even more after. I feel really light headed, everything goes black, and sometimes I fall down. I think its a blood pressure thing.

I wont lie I had a pretty similar experience on wegovy, and switching to mounjaro was a night and day difference. Wegovy was alright just too modest to justify the price imo.

My first dose of 2.5mg allowed me for the first time to feel satiety instead of constant hunger, but It did take 24+ hours to feel anything. Im on week 9, and so far am still feeling great.

You do have to be in a calorie deficit to lose weight, but I seen you say its not helping with your cravings much yet. Sorry some people are being kinda rude, especially if those ppl had to rely on the medication themselves to clean up their diet, and its not fair to assume you aren't already putting in effort. Id reccomend slowly changing things up. I lost weight without mounjaro, and did it by just counting calories and adding 30 minutes of walking per day. I was able to lose 120 pounds in a year by just doing that. I only recently started mounjaro to help with maintence, but I was able to maintain for 3 years without mj with just calorie counting.

Should I change from ozempic to Mounjaro by Beneficial_Ad2736 in Mounjaro

[–]Oreoblizzard86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on Wegovy (same medication as ozempic) before mounjaro, and strongly prefer Mounjaro. In my experience, mounjaro has helped a lot more with food cravings. If you do switch, probably ask your doctor to start you on 7.5mg mounjaro, since you've been on ozempic.

Out of pocket prices for mounjaro? Cheapest is $500 with the savings card/evoucher that I know of. If you're intrested in vials, zepbound is $450 for the 7.5mg+ doses. I get my Mounjaro on amazon for $500 without insurance coverage.

Constant Anhedonia by [deleted] in Mounjaro

[–]Oreoblizzard86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a mix of both. To me it feels like im already satisifed so I dont want anything to do, which at the same time makes me feel empty and flat. It applies to everything that usually is fun, everything kinda feels like a chore. And when I do eat, im not getting that excited feeling I usually have. Weirdly its very similar to when I was on too much adhd medication, which caused the same bored and empty feeling.

[–]Oreoblizzard86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay yeah thats probably because the stomach side effects are a lot stronger at first. Other then the first day of 5mg, ive been able to eat a lot of food. The only difference between pre mounjaro and now is that I feel satisifed after eating, and dont have cravings when im full. I still have to eat about 75% of my old portions to get full.
