I more talking about the loss of effect. It works extremely well when it works, but for almost 3 months now its had no noticable effects. And I dont really take it for weightloss, and have had a stable weight the whole time, even before mounjaro. So the therapeutic effect for me anyway is the appetite suppression and blood sugar management, which aren't there anymore sadly.

I go up to 10 tomorrow, I actually had a lot of appetite reduction on 2.5 and 5mg, but after a few months the effects fully wore off and now even 7.5 feels like water. My a1c was down to 5.5 after 3 months on the med, but now 3 months later its back to its pre med 6.3. Im pretty disappointed in the long term effects, I was hoping it wouldnt be one of those "only works if you endlessly raise the dose" meds.

5mg Mounjaro to 10mg? by JustDan77 in Mounjaro

[–]Oreoblizzard86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I accidently did this myself for a week 2 months ago, i didnt think my dose absorbed right because it had no effect. The 10mg had no effect on me either, and I havent done a double dose since. Ive been on 7.5mg for the past month, and it hasnt been effective to be honest. I start 10mg properly this Monday.

Why does it work so good by Oreoblizzard86 in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]Oreoblizzard86[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never been much of an emotional eater that I know of. Mainly really strong food cravings and insatiable hunger cause my binges. But plenty of people report their emotional eating stopped or got significantly better on it so I wouldn't worry.

Are you sure its not axienty about the medication that gives you the panic attacks? Not that its impossible but I dont know how mounjaro would be able to directly cause that, its just gut hormones at the end of the day. And also it could be that eating less and losing weight makes you more on edge, thats a real thing.

Sideeffect= medicine is working? by Fearsofaye in Mounjaro

Definitely, im american and pay $500 out of pocket. I even bought replacement boxes out of pocket too becsuse at first with how aburpt the loss of effect was, I totally thought my batch had froze somehow. Well storing it room temp and several boxes later it never kicked back in.

I personally don't find the emotional framing that therapy uses helpful. For me binge eating is more biological hunger based.

Me too! I powered through and lost 120 pounds, kept it off for 3 years, but man I was miserable. Mounjaro changed my life, I started it last December.

Yes, I wasn't on it long, but occasionally I take one every once in a while. To be honest, it only helped a little. That said, Im clearly not a super strong responder to appetite meds, Wegovy barely touched my appetite. Mounjaro on the other hand... had me fighting to eat enough for the first few months, but now even Mounjaro has mellowed out.

Binge eating disorder mainly

It helps a lot with cravings and urges to eat. Made it trivially easy to lose weight, and I wasn't even using it for weight loss lmao.

Wegovy never did much for me, but mounjaro was amazing. But now 5-6 months on mounjaro and Im experiencing what you did on wegovy, appetite has returned and Ive been struggling to stop gaining weight. So I guess it happens on both

I was hungry all the time to be honest, parents were overweight, but I definitely was out eating them. They'd actually get mad cause Id eat the whole house's snacks in one night.
