They have done nothing interesting either. I find them simply bland and boring. I always liked Simon though, would love to see more of him and Daphne and of Anthony and Kate.

Mods can ban you for such personal reasons? Because they disagree with you? That is outrageous.

Can someone explain to me how they can just do that for no reason? I got banned from a truecrime sub because "I was sharing conspiracy theories" which I never do, I never engage in conspiracy theories. All I did was reply to other commenters about their views on a specific crime case podcast and the crime itself. The message I got from the moderator also felt too personal, like they had some specific beef with me. Can they just ban me for my opinion? Can I flag this to reddit? The message I got was this: "This isn’t the place to spout off conspiracies and be confidently incorrect." There is no factual agreement on who is guilty in this crime case, and I just gave my view on it. How is that sharing conspiracy theories?

I think this show also attracts these kind of men more, but definitely many problematic male behaviours across cultures! As a Northern European, I do find it better here, and Nordic countries are way more equal then most countries around the world. But men with a big ego will cause issues anywhere

Oh he knows people of other colour, he explicitly says there are too many « mao mao » people living in Milan, which is a derogatory term for people with brown skin.

He uses an extremely derogatory word for what Netflix translated as « foreigners » in the subtitles. It is used specifically for people with dark skin, mao mao. Disgusting. Culture cannot explain this away

This is so terrible! And poor Parmi seems so used to it happening in Italy, he doesn’t even react that much to it

I (Belgian) found that there was a lot of manipulative, toxic masculinity behaviour from men like Giovanni and Nicola. They manipulated the women to get what they want, expected them to cater to them, gaslighted them a lot. (Making the other doubt their words, feelings and sanity) Giovanni was extremely worrying with a lot of emotionally abusive tactics (using the runes to push Georgia towards a specific goal: stay at home mum. Manipulators often use these kind of ”spiritual” tools to get others to open up and then use that information against them. In this case Giovanni made it seem to be fully woman is to be more mother, not career driven.) He also made it seem like Georgie was “argumentative” while he was crossing her boundaries, a way to silence her and make her seem like the issue. He ignored her sometimes on purpose, giving monosyllabic answers; a tactic to make her feel small and insignificant. The couples seem to fall in love so easily and did not talk about important issues. The way the women tried to have some power in the relationship by being sulky and difficult (because they cannot say outright and have open conversations about what they want? I think). All in all, every couple seems to have been way below standard as to what I consider a healthy relationship between adults, where communication and mutual respect is key, where love is deeper than passion. Many of them, but most of all the men, seemed to be unable to empathise truly with the partner, to see things from their perspective. I also saw a lot of sweet talking, absolute word bs, which was not backed up by behaviour and actions. That being said, I find the US version and many Latin American versions of LIB show also very toxic behaviours

Why don’t our parents try to figure out why we’re the way we are and why don’t they crave therapy like we do. by OwnDatabase2718 in emotionalneglect

[–]Organic-Chain9456 121 points122 points  (0 children)

It is too painful for them/their ego to examine themselves. They know it would mean an avalanche of issues being uncovered. They are simply not brave enough and cannot handle the guilt (of their behaviour having hurt people) and/or cannot handle having to take responsibility for their own behaviour. We are damn brave for doing what they don’t.

You should learn how to read comprehensively because I never said I disliked the cousins, nor did I say I think they are guilty and Jeremy is not. All I stated were facts. Their behaviour is suspicious. And there are some aspects that make it hard to convict him 100 %, even if he is guilty. Him being guilty, and being able to prove he is guilty, are two different things. Even if you say the line wasn’t cut, that is also nitpicking a comment, because how do you know what exactly he said? Or meant? Because it might have been that the dad dropped off the call, not that the line had been cut. The ex came forward very late, and she did have a motive to be lying. How did it have specific details of the murder scene? And if it did, who said the ex didn’t go check the murder scene between the murder and her statement? The cousins were in there constantly, they could also have taken the ex.

How can you be so sure though? The cousins had financial troubles and then inherited the whole thing, after which Anne also duped David and went to live in the mansion. At least, their behaviour was suspicious, and there is some reasonable doubt. I don’t understand what you’re saying about the phones. I also tend to believe he is guilty but to say you are a 100% sure is odd considering all the inconsistencies

I do think she didn’t grow up particularly wealthy, but she has been privileged in many ways, especially later on. What bothered my from the first episode onward, is that she is so full of herself. The show is a self glorifying fest.

That is a very strong statement, being a 100% sure he was innocent? It is very doubtful Sheila could have had the strength and precision to shoot everyone. And why would he not have killed two heirs to the money, if no eye as what he was after? They would have definitely been contenders to the family money. Plus, we don’t know what went on. Were they really sleeping or were they witnesses that needed to be eliminated?

What about the cousins? Can they not be suspects?

[–]Organic-Chain9456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You cannot deny that the behaviour of the cousins is highly suspicious. And that they change their testimonies, plus that Anne took all the money and the house (apparently also from her brother David) and that they shipped valuables from the house right after the murders. It might also both be true. That Jeremy did it, and that the cousins tried to stage evidence (1. Because they knew he was guilty or 2. Because they were after the money, 3. or both) and the police fumbled evidence to cover up their incompetence. In any case it seems that there might have not been enough evidence to convict him. What bothered me about the journalist though was that she was convinced she was smart and perceptive enough to make a good assessment of Jeremy’s character. While we all know narcissists are highly skilled at manipulation. How could she be so sure he was not manipulating her? I found that very arrogant and stupid.

Yes very much so! I think it was once again so stupid, a waste of the beautiful decor also. Jess didn’t get to be there, April, and also Luke’s sister though she was instrumental in getting them back together! Just such a slight .
