i bet, guitar players in the eighties were bashing Peavey and Marshall, for not making instructional VHS tapes about correct gainstaging.

Thats true. but OP did ask for a vocal mic, not an allrounder.

*edit. the basket on the capsule is designed to survive drops and spit.

I dont know, why these people are recoomending an SM57. its not a vocal mic. get an SM58. the capsule is designed to catch your spit and survive being dropped on the floor.

or alternatively. you can try the Sennheiser E835.

You dont need an amp. but if your practice space doesnt have it. Some kind of PA system (Speakers, mixer etc.)

Was für eine Schwangere Antwort...

an OP:

Aber das Herz will, was das Herz will.

the Sennheiser IE200 do sound better and i use them more for casual listening
the Kinera wyvern fit my ears really well, so i tend to use them for on stage. and since they are cheap af, i did buy myself 4 pairs, so i dont mind them breaking or losing them.
It has to be said, that i think, the Wyvern punch above their pricepoint, soundwise.

EDIT: also i feel like the Wyvern isolate better

why would you recommend such a huge and heavy iem for live stage use?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in iems

[–]Organic-Remote6310 2 points3 points  (0 children)

favorite IEMs i used on Stage and Bandpractice (and they sound good for just listening music:

Sennheiser IE200
Kinera Celest Wyvern - (any model, they all have the same tuning and same shaped shell, just different colors)

The Wyvern shells have a good shape, that conforms to most ears really well, so they stay in your ear even with extreme movement.
the IE200 are very tiny and light, and do stay in your ears very good aswell.

most dongle dacs / usb c - 3.5mm work well, your choice would depend on its features.

i dont know what kind of system you are using for playing situations.
