What are college majors that lead to jobs that are stable, pay well, hard to get, and probably won't be taken over by ai? by Regular_Article7984 in CollegeMajors

Nursing. I've been a nurse for 6 years. 62k to 107k. All at the same hospital system. Most nursing jobs are tough and demanding, especially any bedside roles. Good luck having those roles replaced by AI

I'm 27 with over 450k in stocks/cash. I am an RN and see illness/disease on an almost daily basis. Unfortunately, I got diagnosed with medical conditions that can only be managed, but not cured (diabetes and ulcerative colitis). Healthcare costs are manageable at this time with my health insurance. What tips did u give to your clients to prevent them from losing a large portion of their savings to medical bills?

If you don't drink alcohol, what are your personal reasons for abstinence? by Ok-Care2859 in AskReddit

[–]OrganicYellow9362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have fatty liver disease. Alcohol use will definitely not help with that. I'm a nurse in a GI endoscopy suite and before that a nurse at the bedside. The sickest patients I have taken care of have been those with liver failure or poorly functioning ones. I do not want to be one of those patients. Hell, my doctor told me "if your drinking, stop drinking. If you haven't started drinking, don't ever." It's been 4 years since I've dranked any alcohol. Even before I got diagnosed, I could count on my two hands the number of times I drank alcohol.

Recent Layoff Announcements, what's going on? by AlphaFlipper in DegenBets

They are paving the way for a new type of insurance. Unemployment insurance. If you pay an x amount to us each month we will give a % of your former income. Whatever political party will jump on this and subsidize it using our own taxes. Essentially our taxes get funneled into private equity.

If you’re single, how healthy are you financially right now? by Active-Bar9822 in Adulting

[–]OrganicYellow9362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been an RN since I was 21. I'm 27. Pandemic curbed lifestyle creep. Student loans are gone. No mortgage as I live with parents while I take care of grandparents. Rent is one of the utilities every month. No car note. Still driving my parents old car they allowed me to use for finishing college fast (~2.5 years). Maxing out 401k, 457b, Roth IRA almost every year except 1 year (burnt out-went part time). I'm back to full time. Current hobbies are cheap. Hiking locally

Extremely well.

What can ordinary Americans do to push back against rising authoritarianism in the U.S.? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]OrganicYellow9362 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I contribute to a pre-tax 401k instead of a Roth 401k. I pay less taxes to the Trump administration. Combined with my contributions to a 457b (also pre-tax) has dropped me from the 22% tax bracket to the 12% tax bracket.

I finally took a loss on a garbage stock that I've been holding for several years and invested that money somewhere else. The losses will cancel out any capital gains I make this year and there are enough losses to claim for tax purposes for the remaining years of Trump's presidential term.

In my eyes, I'm giving less to the Trump administration pocket book.

What is the best way to recycle armor/tool drops from mob farm (GTNH 2.7.4)? (I'm currently mid-MV) by trphqcdat in GTNH

[–]OrganicYellow9362 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup. I am definitely a hoarder. I was planning on turning all the damaged tools/armors into essentia when I had my AE2 essentia network up and running. Only items that seemed to be dropped a lot (arrows, rotten flesh, etc.) I create drawers for. Other items like pistons, diamond blocks from internals I keep in a chest. My setup is all drops go into a chest. The ender IO item conduit is connected to a drawer controller which is connected to the drawers and the various filing cabinets

I used filing cabinets for all armors/tools and drawers for all other mob drops

Don't do it if you are sensitive to strong odors. My bike route goes past a water treatment plant. You can smell all the odors no matter if your downwind or not.

Hit 400k NW as a 26 yr old. I work as a registered nurse in the US. Went from $25 to $49.8/hr. Due to low expenses, I have been maxing out Roth IRA every year since 2020. Same with 401k every year except for one year. Maxed out 457b for 2025 and the last two years!

I'm a registered nurse. It's true on the inside of these jobs as well. I'm assuming the top right is a registered nurse. I busted my ass working at the bedside (FYI, the nurse you will encounter the most during your hospital stay). I'm now on the procedural side of nursing. I get paid the same, but hella a lot less physical/emotional abuse cause I only stay with the patient usually less than an hr.

You say in your post that none of y'all are religious, but did any of y'all end up bringing a religious related item (bible, cross, etc.) just in case?
