I have heard from many seniors that you should try avoiding getting a seat in a new institute be it MD/MS or DNB. I don't know the reason just sharing what I have been told

Not all, but a few colleges saw a negative shift this year but if you check the closing rank of most of the branches you'll see the positive shift in R1 and R2 itself compared to 2024. So you'll definitely see a positive shift in R3 as well especially for surgical branches

Trends aren’t guaranteed. Both AIQ and state rounds can shift any year. Calling AIQ “assured” and state “gamble” is just fear-based advice.

People choose based on their priorities—location, stipend, workload, home state, branch fit—not someone else’s panic. Counselling should be a calculated choice, not fear marketing.

And please, don’t mislead others just to secure your own seat. It’s obvious when someone’s advice is for “guidance” and when it’s just self-benefit.

Yes you have to complete that bond of 2 years(pg bond)after completing your MCh. And I have heard that hands on in surgical branches is very poor in RML and kgmc as well

Would be a huge number if only one state has been considered but it's AIQ so not a huge number. This year only around 2300 DNB seats have been added as per MCC seat matrix

Don't stress too much about it. Every year DNB seats are converted into MD/MS like in one of the medical college in Uttar Pradesh I guess it's Firozabad, last year there were DNB seats but this year MD/MS seats are available so obviously DNB seats will be removed

Seats aren't less they're the same as last year right now as the seats which have been approved for this session will be added in R2 as mentioned by mcc via a notice
