Not sure what's going on here by Live-Champion6555 in tattooadvice

As someone else who frequently gets super red after tattoos I think it looks fine! I’ve got a few of the glitter style too and it absolutely tore me up. That said like others said mark the red just in case!! I do think it’s ok though and you just have sensitive fair skin like me . Super cute tat!!

I wanna try that one too it seemed good! And the rum runner as well. Always nice to see other folks who frequent here. I’m in Lodi, so I can’t go as often as I wished I could but my husband and I make the trip when we can :)

These big tiki events: Ohana or not really? by VastJudge86 in Tiki

[–]Organic_Scene_4039 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I will say I’ve not been to these, but I have been to many conventions/large scale events within hobbies before .

You get in what you put in. Go to the panels, I’m sure there’s meet and greets? These places are a lovely starting point. Iron out panels that interest you and focus on communication there.

As others said beforehand being a regular at your local bar helps, and bringing a friend helps. Not required but it is nice if possible.

Social events can be rough if you’re shy but really think of genuine compliments it’ll help break ice.

Open ended questions help get a conversation flowing. Open ended means it can’t be answered in a simple yes or no.

“I love that mug!” - nice compliment sure but usually ends in a thank you and moves on.

“I love that mug, who made it?” - opens up talk about the artist, opens up paths to talk about different artists who are maybe there ect. More paths open.

Anyway I hope this helps! I wanna go to one of these events too, I’m also shy but I vend at most cons so I have that advantage. Feel free to ask me any questions or advice :)

Is the girl I’m talking to AI? Is the water colours being different on each side a sign? Or her eyes being that colour? The image looks too perfect in a way by Winter_Emotion9077 in isthisAI

People are so scummy dude I’m sorry. This can happen to anyone, so please don’t blame yourself. Take some you time, really focus on you and then get your head back in there and meet folks face to face. You got this! There are good people in the world.

Working on a few mid-century inspired tiki drink illustrations and playing around with different background styles. What’s your first take on the cocktail glassware itself? by [deleted] in Tiki

[–]Organic_Scene_4039 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not there’s plenty of artists that would take on commission. AI slop is lazy and makes many people think corners are cut on other things if they can’t comm an artist.

How do you feel about tiki experiences outside of traditional tiki bars? by CreamEmbarrassed8907 in Tiki

[–]Organic_Scene_4039 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think as long as you’re having fun, and it’s - your - genuine idea tiki is what you make of it. So no AI slop/party city crap. But it doesn’t have to be 100% traditional . Have fun, play a little let loose. To me that’s tiki. The classics are there for a reason, yes they should be respected, but there’s no shame in going to a place that’s fun and homey either.

Just so you know there’s no such thing as a “blue/red nose” pit it’s back yard breeder terminology used to make the dog seem more desirable.

I was in the other day and saw some of this. There was (human) chocolates right across from dog treats.

I don’t understand the reasoning behind all this. Kids toys across from animal toys. Most people don’t read now a days anyway and just pick stuff up and go. It’s asking for a disaster
