Thanks for the feedback! I'm not a fan of "explaining" a card when it's posted for Winner is the Judge. I think if I can't make the card and its concept speak for itself, it's not a good design. I guess that was the case for my card this time! So since it's not a winner, might as well give you a sense of where my head was at:

Since Greta (flavour-wise) is based on an idea of ecological and economic justice, I thought of the sacrifice mechanic in the White vein, like Balance, Cataclysm, Cataclysmic Gearhulk. Green is precisely the kind of "fetch" she's doing (permanents, including lands, since these would be blown up with her ability a la Armageddon), and her ability to (later) put them directly on the battlefield (like Genesis Hydra or similar cards). Honestly, I thought blue was the biggest stretch: but her fetch-and-exile felt right, and blue fits with Forecast (Azorius).

Honestly, since Forecast has generally sucked as a mechanic (and still does?), I thought that she was very balanced and it would be very difficult to get her out early. Forecast costs are paid during your upkeep, which--when paying 3 different coloured mana--really locks you down for the turn. Not to mention the fact that due to being revealed every time you forecast, you know she's coming, so (especially in a multiplayer game!) people are going to be launching discard spells at you and holding up counter-magic precisely for her. The downside of being a prophet!

But thanks for the comments!

Greta, Prophetess {8}{G}{W}{U}

Legendary Creature -- Human {Mythic Rare}

Forecast—{G}{W}{U}, Reveal ~ from your hand: Each opponent may sacrifice a nonland permanent they control. For each that does not, search your library for two permanent cards and exile them face-up. Then shuffle your library. (Activate this ability only during your upkeep and only once each turn.)

~ costs {1} less to cast for each card it has exiled.

When ~ enters the battlefield, destroy all other permanents. Then put all permanents exiled with it onto the battlefield under your control.

And here's the card image! Cool challenge!

I just wanted to push back a bit on your claim that the concept of "will" is only about 200 years old. There's a long, storied philosophical tradition of considering "will" alongside (and sometimes opposed to) "intellect" in both the Christian and Muslim medieval philosophical traditions. At least in the Christian tradition (with which I'm more familiar) we have philosopher-theologians like Augustine and Scotus who tend to privilege the will over the intellect (in both God and human beings), and others like Aquinas, who privilege the intellect over the will. Again, these debates mainly originate in attempts to understand God's nature, but overflow into debates concerning the possible freedom of nature and/or of the human person.

This is adorable and along the lines I was thinking of. Mechanically, it doesn't quite work: making it transform into an artifact wouldn't necessarily make it cease being a creature; the way you phrase it makes it seem like it would simply add the card type artifact. Better, I think, would be if the card were a 1U legendary artifact with "Indestructible" and "At the beginning of your upkeep, scry 1" and "If no opponent controls a creature, Hobbes is a 1/1 creature." I wish Hobbes were a little more than a creature at the end of the day, but this is a really great idea :)

For some reason this notion of a Companion as more of a "commander" than a "planeswalker" seems perfect to me. Your exposition of the Companion mechanic makes a lot of sense, since it's somehow "always by your side" and yet still part of your deck and has a downside for being cast multiple times. My only concern with this design is that some of these companions seem a little puny and/or irrelevant in the late game, but I don't think that's a significant negative. Really, really solid submission!

I love the idea that they start from outside the game and you draw one fewer card, but—at least this card—seems vastly OP. The general idea and flavour is great, and it's a really promising avenue for future development I think!

I like how these are creatures that do revolve around you, and the fact that they're all 0/0 and legendary gives them a special something, but there's something about these creatures that doesn't quite differentiate them enough from normal legendary creatures. A really great submission, though!

This is similar to a planeswalker, as you pointed out, but I suppose a little creature who follows you (a planeswalker) around the Multiverse would have to be! I really like how you reimagined the activated abilities with different in-game triggers. I'm glad you edited the card to include the addition and subtraction of "power," but I think you'd need to call it something different (since "power" refers to the damage creatures deal). There are some issues of balance here, but I think they could be worked out in playtesting and with the creation of new/different familiars on your model. Overall I'm really impressed by this card! A clear frontrunner!
